It’s been a rough week for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Though they sit in first place, well ahead of the rest of the National League West, the Dodgers lost superstar shortstop Mookie Betts for at least 6-8 weeks after he was hit in the hand by a 98mph fastball on Sunday.
That came one day after losing rookie phenom Yoshinobu Yamamoto for an undetermined amount of time with a strained rotator cuff. But if there’s one thing the modern Dodgers have excelled at, it’s building depth to sustain injury issues.

16 teams, 32 jerseys…who’s the cream of the crop?
Copa América is almost here! By the time you read this, we’ll be less than 24 hours from the South American tournament kicking off on our borders.
The opening match starts off this Thursday between defending Copa champions Argentina and Canada. When the teams step out onto the field, they will be doing so in their new jerseys that were released earlier this year.

The 2024 U.S. Open was a unique one for Jon Rahm given it was the first time in his professional career he didn’t actually tee it up in the major championship. Williams had held that title since Joe DiMaggio died at 84 on March 8, 1999.
Willie Mays probably never complained about it, but many baseball purists, historians and fans argued that it was Willie Mays before DiMaggio.
LEGEND FALLS: Willie Mays Dies
Now, Mays – the “Say Hey Kid” has passed at age 93, and the heir apparent is not so easily apparent.

John Parks, a high school track and field coach and teacher in Oregon, was allegedly fired for fighting for fairness in women’s sports.
According to KATU, “Parks wrote two letters to Peter Weber, the Executive Director of the Oregon Student Activities Association, and state Sen. Rob Wagner before and after the state championships in May, respectively.”
Oregon is the state in which Aayden Gallagher, a biological male, competes in girls’ track & field.

The Washington Nationals ballpark turned into a makeshift wrestling ring Tuesday night when a group of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) wrestlers attacked the team’s President mascots during the fourth inning.
As has been the Nationals in-game entertainment for years now, the giant mascots that consist of former Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington came out of the outfield wall and began running along the warning track and across the first baseline to the finish line.
