J.J. Redick was introduced as the next head coach of the Lakers, and his performance at the introductory press conference in El Segundo, Calif. was fit for a podcaster.
Redick’s introduction Monday was far from regal. At the presser, Redick dropped a pair of F-bombs and responded to the slew of criticism he’s received since drawing interest from the Lakers with an uncanny background to boast. A lack of coaching experience has been the crux of criticism aimed at Redick.

There’s nothing quite like heading to the ol’ ballpark and snagging a foul ball. But making an amazing snag on that foul ball, especially when it’s caught on TV, is one of the best possible outcomes.
That’s exactly what happened to a Baltimore Orioles fan who was inexplicably standing by himself way out in the right field stands.
Cleveland Guardians hitter Josh Naylor clubbed a foul ball that looked headed for the concourse at Oriole Park.
But there was one lone gentleman standing out there.

It was a gathering of Tennessee legends Monday for the Vols’ last chance at winning the College World Series Final, on the heels of winning a red-hot Game 2 on Sunday to extend the series.
Among the Vols faithful in attendance was a quartet of Tennessee gents — famed alum Peyton Manning, country star Morgan Wallen, Vols hoops coach Rick Barnes and football coach Josh Heupel — seated together at Charles Schwab Field.
Fireworks went off as Manning and Wallen exchanged a bro-hug, celebrating Christian Moore’s leadoff home run to put the Vols up, 1-0, early.

Stephen A. Smith has a message for white folks: shut up and listen.
Last week, Smith shamed the Lakers for hiring JJ Redick and cited sources saying black coaches were “upset” that LeBron James started a podcast with a white co-host while his black head coach, Darvin Ham, was perceived to be on the hot seat.
Smith addressed criticism of his report Monday:
“Black coaches called a black commentator to complain about a black superstar doing a podcast while his black head coach was on the hot seat before he ultimately lost the damn job,” Smith said.

Soccer fever has gripped the United States! Well, kind of. At least as much as non-World Cup soccer can grip the country. The US Men’s National Team began its Copa América run Sunday with a 2-0 win over Bolivia.
The USMNT is ranked much higher internationally than Bolivia, so this was not an unexpected result. US soccer star Christian Pulisic scored a goal and added an assist in what was a dominating performance.
Pulisic’s tally came less than two-and-a-half minutes into the contest. The US rode that goal to an easy victory.
