The WBC returns for the first time in six years on Tuesday, with a stacked field set to battle over the next two weeks.
Welcome back to the World Baseball Classic. The tournament will kick off Tuesday when Cuba plays the Netherlands at 11 p.m. ET, and tomorrow, a full slate of opening-round games will follow. It’s been a long time since the last WBC—six years!—and if you’ve forgotten in the interim, the event is one of the most delightful on the baseball calendar, not quite like anything else in the sport. There are plenty of reasons to tune in. Here are just a few.

Connecticut, Creighton, Marquette, and Xavier are among the favorites in the Big East men’s basketball conference tournament.
The men’s Big East tournament is set to get underway this week from legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Marquette wrapped up the regular season title last week, with their win last Tuesday over Butler.
Marquette enters Madison Square Garden as the No. 1 seed, but it is not the betting favorite to win the conference tournament.
The Big East tournament has been Villanova’s tournament to lose in recent years, but the Wildcats will likely have a tough time defending their title this season.
The action begins Wednesday at Madison Square Garden and fourth-seeded UConn is the favorite to win the tournament, just ahead of Marquette, which enters as the top seed.
Boston Celtics big man Grant Williams decided to talk trash to Cleveland Cavaliers’ star Donovan Mitchell with the game on the line on Monday. That turned out to be the wrong choice, as Williams gave the game away at the free-throw line.
Williams was fouled with just 0.8 seconds left and the game knotted at 109. Preparing to take his two shots from the charity stripe, Mitchell tried to get in his head, and it seemed to have worked.
Williams told Mitchell “I’m gonna make ’em both.”
That, however, did not happen.
Tom Brady is soaking up plenty of sun and relaxation on the water since retiring.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion hung up his cleats after this past season with the Bucs, and now at the age of 45, it’s time for him to cut loose.
That includes spending some time on his 77-foot yacht TW12VE ANGELS. Brady was spotted on his massive vessel in Hollywood, Florida over the weekend, according to TMZ.

New York’s NFL franchises demanded our attention in 2022 because the Giants returned to the playoffs after a five-year absence and the Jets were relevant and intriguing much of the season with a young team that made a leap before falling back to Earth late.
Now here we are in the offseason and New York’s teams are in the epicenter of the action all over again.
In the near future — some people believe within the next couple of days — the Jets will know how to approach their quarterback situation for the 2023 season because they’ll know where they stand with Aaron Rodgers.

What’s he doing to get the guys fired up? He’s putting an old car on display in the parking lot to send a message about only looking to the future, according to Peter King.
The 49ers quarterback’s success as a rookie has other NFL teams thinking about players worth taking earlier in the draft.
Thanks to a headline-grabbing combine performance by Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, we will allow ourselves to be swept up in a predictable, annual game of prospect thimblerig in which we reimagine a hierarchy that was put in place months ago by scouts and evaluators who had just finished grading the only thing that truly matters: live game reps and game film from the previous season.
It’s been a while since OBJ was a valuable fantasy asset, but he could make a splash with one of these teams.
Wide receiver has become the dominant position in all of fantasy football, as young players like Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb (to name a few) are lighting up the stat sheets. Unfortunately, NFL teams looking to make a major splash at the position will find it difficult to accomplish, as the free agent market is a bit weak heading into the 2023 offseason. With that said, making a big splash trade these days can help fill a void.
The Memphis Grizzlies reportedly held a players-only meeting to address their woes away from home and their lack of discipline on the road. Ja Morant responded to the meeting by going out in Denver after a loss to the Nuggets and flashing a gun while streaming on Instagram Live.
Talk about going in one ear and out the other.

The Grizzlies may sit second in the Western Conference standings but are a woeful 12-20 on the road.
