The NBA fined Heat forward Jimmy Butler $25,000 after he didn’t participate in post-game interviews following the team’s Game 3 win over the Celtics on Sunday night.
The NBA requires players to be made available after games and to speak to the media. Therefore, Butler violated this policy by not talking with media after the game.
It’s unknown why Butler declined to speak with media after the team’s dominant 128–102 win on Sunday as he has not given a public reason for his decision. The win gave Miami a 3–0 lead with the chance to sweep Boston on Tuesday night.

A massive change is reportedly coming to special teams in the NFL for 2023.
The league approved a rule change that enables kickoff returners to fair-catch kickoffs in order to place the ball on the returning team’s 25-yard line, according to a Tuesday morning report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the rule change passed in spite of “aggressive pushback from special teams coaches and players.”
A league memo cited “player safety” as the reason for the change, which will be in effect for 2023 only.

EA Sports’ upcoming college football video game will push the chips in on Dynasty Mode.
Dynasty mode was hands down the best part of the game before they were discontinued following “NCAA Football 14” summer 2013.
You could spend countless hours trying to turn Akron into a powerhouse program. Now, the game will return summer 2024 for the first time in more than a decade and EA Sports is smartly going heavy on Dynasty Mode.
EA Sports’ new college football video game will have a heavy focus on Dynasty Mode.
Legendary Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim joined OutKick’s Dan Dakich on the latest episode of Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich. The Hall of Fame coach — who recently retired — gave Dakich his take on the situation that unfolded at Alabama this season involving star player Brandon Miller.
It has been alleged that Miller provided the gun used in the murder of 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris in January of this year committed by his former teammate Darius Miles and his accomplice Michael Lynn Davis.
Despite this, Alabama controversially opted not to suspend the NBA-bound Miller.
Only two lottery picks from the 2003 NBA draft won a championship before leaving the team that picked them. One was Dwyane Wade. The other was Darko Miličić. This quirky little fact does not change the Pistons’ Darko mistake, but it does put it in context: The draft is a means to an end. Botching a pick and winning anyway is a much better outcome than nailing it and failing to capitalize.
The Miličić choice (which did not seem foolish at the time—Jay Bilas gushed about him on ESPN that night) is usually framed as a what-if for Detroit.
League meetings here in Minneapolis are winding down and, as such, we’ve got a lot to get to …
• I’d respect the NFL’s heavy hand on the state of Thursday Night Football if the league would just be honest about it. Call it what is, and tell the people who’s being taken care of.
It was never about the fans. It’s about the higher power the NFL answers to.
That higher power is the broadcast partners who cut the checks that make the league one of the world’s most powerful money-making sports entities.
Rutgers basketball saw its leading scorer from 2022/23 hit the portal as a graduate transfer earlier this week. The exact reason for his departure is unclear, but financial opportunity was, and is, a factor.
Cam Spencer played his first three years at Loyola-Maryland before transferring to play in Piscataway. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged a team-high 13.2 points per game with 3.8 boards, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals last season.
Now, even though he was not considered a flight risk after just one year in New Jersey, Spencer is in the portal once again.
New York Jets coach Robert Saleh believes this time of year there are 32 NFL coaches telling their teams they have a chance to win a championship. But, with the exception of a few teams, most coaches are lying or deluding themselves.
And Saleh believes he and his team are among the exceptions this season.
“I think 32 coaches stand in front of their teams every year and talk about winning a championship,” Saleh told reporters on Tuesday. “And realistically there’s maybe six or eight teams that have an actual chance to do it.
“And I do think we are one of those teams.
Miami is one win away from the Heat and Panthers playing in their respective finals.
