The Seahawks and Geno Smith have agreed to a new multi-year contract that will keep the quarterback in Seattle, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports. The agreement also means Seattle does not have to use the franchise tag on Smith ahead of the Tuesday deadline.
According to Ian Rapoport, Seattle is giving Smith a three-year deal worth up to $105 million.
Smith had a breakout season last year after he spent the previous two seasons backing up Russell Wilson.
