There is only one Shohei Ohtani when it comes to multiplicity of greatness, but what Betts is doing deserves its own measure of wonder.
The Dodgers’ morning workout and B-squad game ended, leaving players to down time in the clubhouse to attend to lunch, treatment, their phone, Ping-Pong games or other diversions. One player remained on a back field, working up a sweat on double play pivots with infield coaches Chris Gutierrez, Dino Ebel and Chris Woodward.
This was no kid trying to make the team.

The Boilermakers center reminded fans just how tall he really is.
Purdue basketball star Zach Edey reminded fans just how tall he really is Sunday.
After Purdue won the Big Ten regular-season title, the 7’4” center went to cut down a portion of the net to celebrate the Boilermakers’ feat.
There was a ladder near the hoop for team members to use, but Edey pushed it aside. He was able to reach the net without even leaning forward on his tiptoes.
Edey walked away laughing after cutting the net, as he probably guessed he surprised some fans by reaching the net without assistance.

The NFC South has its first team with a solid quarterback as the New Orleans Saints and free agent Derek Carr are closing in on a contract, a source confirmed to OutKick on Monday morning.
NFL Network was the first to report the news.

Derek Carr headed to the Saints.

The Angels star hit an impressive home run while preparing for the World Baseball Classic
Angels do-it-all star Shohei Ohtani is one of myriad major leaguers preparing for the upcoming World Baseball Classic instead of working out at his team’s spring training camp.
Ohtani, who will compete in the WBC for his native Japan, played in an exhibition on Monday for Team Japan against the Hanshin Tigers. In the third inning, Ohtani blasted a 420-foot, three-run homer to left field—from one leg.

A weak WR market means Robinson could be in high demand.
Allen Robinson’s time in Los Angeles is coming to a close, one year after signing with the Los Angeles Rams. On Monday it was reported by Tom Pelissero that Robinson has been granted a trade request, and the Rams are willing to pay part of his salary to facilitate a deal.
Robinson’s 2022 season was bad, but it was also an extension of the Rams as a whole.

Shaquille O’Neal completely agrees with Deion Sanders’ outlook on recruiting.
The Colorado head coach made some waves when he claimed he wanted his QBs to come from two-parent households, have high GPAs, stay out of trouble and be strong leaders. When he looks for a defensive lineman, he looks for someone clawing to just stay above water.
For reasons many people don’t understand, those comments were taken as insensitive and controversial.
Well, Shaq certainly doesn’t have a single issue with what Sanders said.

The team reportedly will use the tag if a contract isn’t agreed upon by Tuesday.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and general manager Eric DeCosta recently met in Miami to discuss a potential long-term deal between the two parties, but they were once again unable to find common ground. Now, the team is expected to place the franchise tag on him Tuesday, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Placing the franchise tag on Jackson would mean the two sides were unable to meet in the middle after two offseasons of discussions.
