Anthony Edwards is quickly reaching new heights as he spearheads the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ impressive playoff run, and he received a standing ovation from fans after the Game 2 victory despite the fact that it was a road game in Denver.
The Timberwolves took a 2–0 series lead over the Denver Nuggets as Edwards dropped a joint game-high 27 points, and the 22-year-old was serenaded with MVP chants from fans looking to show their appreciation for his efforts.
While Edwards was at the free-throw line during the fourth quarter, the MVP chants could be heard taking over Ball Arena.

Jamal Murray got shut down and lost his cool against the Timberwolves.
The Denver Nuggets had a must-win Game 2 on the home floor against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs on Monday night. The Wolves upset Denver in Game 1 behind electric late-game shot-making from Anthony Edwards, and with star center Rudy Gobert missing Game 2 for the birth of his first child, Denver couldn’t let both games of the series slip away.
Instead, the Wolves beat the breaks off Denver all night.

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray was having a tough go of things during Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, whose stifling defense was proving more than a little frustrating for the 27-year-old.
After checking out of the game late into the first half, Murray, who had been barking back and forth with officials throughout the game, could be seen vehemently protesting a no-call from the referees.
Murray was then spotted by the TNT broadcast appearing to throw a heat pack onto the court, which landed dangerously close to the foot of Karl-Anthony Towns as he went up for a layup.

The Indiana Pacers saw Game 1 slip away against the New York Knicks on Monday night, in part due to a controversial illegal screen call that was whistled against Myles Turner with 12 seconds left in the game and Indiana trailing by one point.
Turner set a screen on Donte DiVincenzo, who sold the contact and was rewarded with the call from officials. The Pacers challenged but were unsuccessful.
After the game, Rick Carlisle couldn’t hide his frustration with the decision from the referees, saying that Indiana wasn’t “expecting to get calls” in New York.

The most emphatic victory lap of 2024 originates in rap, not sports.
The rap beef between industry titans Kendrick Lamar and Drake captivated the world over the weekend, and as the dust settles we see one person’s tracks become celebrated everywhere, including in the world of sports. As Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux walked up to bat in the third inning of the Dodgers’ game against the Miami Marlins, he used Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ as his walkup music.

Jalen Brunson scored 43 points, becoming the fourth player in NBA history with four straight 40-point games in the postseason, and the New York Knicks outlasted the Indiana Pacers 121-117 on Monday night in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith was called for a kickball that turned into a huge basket for the Knicks, but the referees have already admitted they messed up.
With 52 seconds left in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Aaron Nesmith was whistled for a kicked ball violation with the Knicks and Pacers knotted at 115-115, and the Knicks scored on the ensuing possession to take a 118-115 lead they wouldn’t relinquish, ultimately winning the game 121-117.
