If you weren’t watching the College World Series on Friday night, you certainly missed one of the wildest games in recent memory, thanks to Tennessee and Florida State.
The second game of the day featured the Vols and Seminoles battling in what could only be described as one of the ugliest defensive performances from both teams. But that ultimately didn’t stop the baseball gods from delivering us a a fantastic finish.
Florida State had the offense rolling through four innings, leading the Vols 9-4 and looking like a team bound for the winner’s bracket.

There’s just something about the Washington Nationals dugout, apparently.
After a very public disagreement between former closer Jonathan Papelbon and former Nationals superstar Bryce Harper started in the dugout, current Nats players MacKenzie Gore and Nick Senzel decided to do a little recreation of their own on Friday night.
The disagreement seemed to stem from a play Senzel failed to make in the top of the second inning.

Tennessee’s Christian Moore did something for just the second time in Men’s College World Series history
Friday night’s game between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Florida State Seminoles in the Men’s College World Series has yet to go final.
But a player has already made some history.
Tennessee infielder Christian Moore hit for the cycle in the game, becoming the first player to accomplish that feat since Jerry Kindall hit for the cycle back in 1956.

Day two of the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 was a dramatic change of pace from day one. After some favorable conditions and pin placements on Thursday led to a number of low scores, day two was a very different story.
The best score on the course came from Hideki Matsuyama, who was the only player to card a four under 66. But big names struggled throughout the round, most notably pre-tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler and PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele had a brutal fifth hole, putting their second shots in the worst possible position.
