Thirty-five years after the first Black man quarterbacked a Super Bowl team, the NFL’s signature game has two Black QBs. It’s painfully slow, but this is growth.
The grandson of hockey legend Bobby Hull — who died Monday — has hit back at people who immediately hopped on the more controversial aspects of the Hockey Hall of Famer’s life.
Jude Hull is the son of Brett Hull. Brett is Bobby’s son and a Hockey Hall of Famer in his own right. Understandably, Jude wasn’t too pleased about how some people couldn’t wait 12 hours after his grandfather’s death to harp on his past transgressions.

New Orleans had control over Payton’s contract for another year.
With the Broncos set to hire Sean Payton as their next head coach, the team had to finalize a deal with the Saints to officially acquire the contractual rights to Payton. Therefore, Denver is expected to send New Orleans a 2023 first-round pick and a ’24 second-round pick, while receiving a ’24 third-round pick to complete the deal, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Even though Payton retired from the Saints last year, New Orleans still had him under contract.

Ryans has been the presumed favorite for the job, especially over the past week, and now that the 49ers season is over the Texans made it official.
Ryans is a former Texans draft pick — #33 overall, 2006 — who won Rookie of the Year for the team in ’06-07. He also became a First Team All-Pro in Houston and made two Pro Bowls.
The Houston Texans have made former 49ers defensive coordinator Demeco Ryans their newest head coach.
Two former Georgia athletes made several important life decisions in an extraordinarily short time frame recently.
Ryland Goede was, until recently, a tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Goede was a four-star recruit out of high school several years ago, seeing mostly reserve action for the Bulldogs.
Despite his fairly impressive recruiting ranking, he never caught a pass during his time in Athens. So it’s not surprising that he’d be announcing a transfer to Mississippi State.
But though Goede was never successful on the field, he apparently found much more success off the field.
The Saints and Broncos have agreed to compensation in return for Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean Payton, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Sean Payton is the Denver Broncos choice to be their next head coach. While the sides have a basic understanding on a contract, the negotiations on that continue, a source told OutKick on Tuesday.
There are still final details to iron out on the deal but it is believed Payton will be one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL, if not the highest, the source said.
This has been two-pronged negotiation for the Broncos.

Ryans is now the head coach of the team he once played for
The Houston Texans have their next head coach, and it is a familiar face.
DeMeco Ryans, most recently the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, will be the next head coach of the Texans. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ryans and the team reached agreement on a six-year deal.
The agreement reunited Ryans with the team he once played for. Ryans was drafted by the Texans in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the 33rd player selected overall.
