Tennessee coach Josh Heupel led the program to its first 11-win season since 2001 this past year and he was awarded with a new contract extension as a result, the school announced Tuesday.  
The extension will run through January 2029 and will net him $9 million annually, not including incentives. Heupel, 44, just wrapped up his second season with the Volunteers and has a 18–8 record at the helm. This past season Tennessee finished 11–2 and capped off the year with a Orangle Bowl win over Clemson.

The Nets announced on Tuesday that forward Kevin Durant is “progressing well and as expected” from his knee injury, and his progress will be evaluated again in another two weeks before deciding on a return timetable.
Durant suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee during a game vs. the Heat on January 8. Brooklyn initially said he would be reevaluated in a few weeks, which led to this most recent injury update.

New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner and Buffalo Wild Wings have announced the eight players named to the inaugural All-Sauce team.
The criteria is simple: have a name even tangentially related to sauce of some kind. They then represent that corresponding sauce in the Buffalo Wild Wings roster of sauces.
While it’s not made up of a full 11 players, the inaugural All-Sauce team is full of some heavy hitters representing every manner of sauce.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced yesterday that they are trading for Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura in exchange for Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks. According to reports the Lakers plan on signing Hachimura a lottery pick in 2019 to an extension this offseason as he finishes up his rookie deal.
