The Minnesota tight end weighed in on the heartbreaking ending to the team’s 2022 campaign.
The 2022 NFL season did not end as planned for Vikings tight end TJ Hockenson.
Instead of the two-time Pro Bowler competing for an opportunity to play in Super Bowl LVII, Minnesota was eliminated in this year’s wild-card round with a 31-24 loss to the Giants that included a questionable pass on fourth-and-eight from quarterback Kirk Cousins to Hockenson that fell four yards short of the first-down marker.

The league released its 132-game slate Wednesday, with this year’s campaign set to kick off on March 25.
The NWSL schedule is finally here, with the league releasing the 2023 calendar on Wednesday. The announcement comes after players, fans and NWSL insiders alike voiced their dissatisfaction with the delayed schedule release. NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman responded to the criticism Monday, admitting the 2023 docket’s publication “took too long,” adding, “Thank you for your passion and for holding us accountable. We will do better.

The WNBA has some explaining to do after a veteran player alleged that the Las Vegas Aces mistreated her and traded her for being pregnant. On Tuesday, the Association announced that an investigation had been launched looking into claims made by former Ace-turned-LA Spark Dearica Hamby.
Less than a year after winning the WNBA Finals with the Aces, Hamby was traded to the Sparks (Jan. 21), which the 29-year-old alleges had to do with her current pregnancy with her second child.

“I don’t think it’s ever been better in the league,” the commissioner said.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell set himself up for this one.
In 2022, the league’s officials struggled mightily at times. Missed calls abounded in both the AFC and NFC championship games, the league’s biggest contests outside of the Super Bowl. Bizarre roughing-the-passer calls were frequent. Existential discussions about the state of officiating, from potential biases to the role of replay, ran rampant.

Turnovers are bad!
Did you know that Tony Romo and Dak Prescott have the same career record in the playoffs?
They are both 2-4 in postseason play and while the latter still has a lot of football in front of him this particular piece of truth has made life pretty miserable for Dallas Cowboys fans (it’s me, hi I’m the problem. it’s me) over the last few weeks.
In situations like this people like to reference how the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again all while expecting different results.

The New York Islanders have announced they will not be wearing rainbow warm-up jerseys or using rainbow tape for their upcoming Pride Night scheduled for Thursday night.
This makes them the latest team to forego making their players wear rainbow jerseys meant to show support for the LGBTQ community.
However, this doesn’t mean that the team will not be holding a Pride Night when the Vancouver Canucks roll (perhaps, more accurately, limp) into town on Thursday. While the players won’t be throwing on sweaters or using tape, the team will be making donations to a pair of LGBTQ charities.

Here are the 319 NFL draft prospects invited to the Combine
Super Bowl LVII is still a few days away, and by the end of Sunday evening either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs will be Super Bowl Champions.
But the race is already on for Super Bowl LVIII, and the 2023 NFL Draft is coming into focus.
Now that the Senior Bowl and the Shrine Bowl are both in the rear-view mirror, the next critical step toward the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City is the NFL Scouting Combine.

PHOENIX — NFL officiating was often criticized by loud and prominent voices from within and outside the league this season, but despite that critique commissioner Roger Goodell believes game officials are doing an awesome job.
“I think for us, when you look at officiating, I don’t think it’s ever been better in the league,” Goodell said Wednesday at his annual state of the league press conference.
“There are over 42,000 plays in a season. Multiple infractions could occur on any play. Take that average and extrapolate that. That’s hundreds, if not millions of potential fouls.
