Finally! After all the drama, rumors, speculation and innuendo, the Lamar Jackson contract saga finally came to an end on Thursday, just hours before the NFL Draft. The quarterback posted a video on Twitter saying he and the Baltimore Ravens agreed to a five-year deal.
“For the last few months, there’s been a lot of ‘he said, she said,’ a lot of nail biting, a lot of head scratching,” Jackson said.
The contentious standoff between the Ravens and star quarterback Lamar Jackson has finally reached a resolution as the two sides agreed to a contract extension on Thursday, the team confirmed on Twitter. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to break the news on an agreement between the two sides.
The news comes just minutes after Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that “major progress” had been made between the two sides.
The 2019 league MVP has dominated the NFL offseason headlines as both sides worked a long-term deal.

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese and coach Kim Mulkey were thrilled after former Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith announced that she was transferring to the Tigers’ program on Thursday.
Van Lith, who is coming off back-to-back seasons of earning first-team All-ACC honors, averaged 19.7 points, 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals for the Cardinals this past year. As the Tigers seek to win back-to-back titles in ’23, Reese could not be happier for her new teammate in Baton Rouge.

The four-time MVP and the Packers converted a $58.3 million option bonus for 2023 into a base salary in ’24 before Rodgers was traded. As a result, Rodgers will earn a base salary of $1.165 million in the upcoming season according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
But in ’24, the compensation for the 39-year-old will rise to $107.55 million, which includes his $47 million option bonus, his $1.
