As the NFL’s biggest surprise in a long time, there should be no other contenders other than Geno
What does it even mean to be the NFL’s greatest “comeback” story? That decision rests solely in the eye of the voters, and each of them is relying mostly on one factor above all others: The best story that has been leading that season’s headlines with regards to the most surprisingly good player.
Under those conditions then there is only one choice for the 2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Truly and irrefutably only one name.
Geno Smith.

The San Antonio Spurs had nearly 70,000 fans in attendance last night in their return to the Alamodome, setting an NBA regular-season record.
San Antonio returned to their former arena to celebrate their 50th Anniversary as a franchise as they took on the Golden State Warriors.
The final tally of attendance was 68,323 – easily surpassing the previous record of 62,046 who went to see Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls play the Atlanta Hawks back in 1998 at the Georgia Dome.

Jay Withey will be going to the Super Bowl after saving dozens of lives during a snowstorm in Buffalo.
Withey jumped into action on Christmas Eve as a snowstorm hammered the Buffalo region, and the brave man saved 24 people, according to ESPN.
Withey eventually broke into a school with two strangers in order to survive, and then featured out into the winter hell to bring more people to safety. Seven of the people he saved were elderly people stranded in their vehicles. At least 39 people died in the storm that hit Erie County, according to ABC News.

Who is Brock Purdy, the rookie quarterback for the 49ers?
The 2022 NFL Draft quarterback class was expected to be a one of the worst in recent memory. For the first time since 1997, no quarterbacks were taken in the first 19 picks and just a single quarterback (the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Kenny Pickett) was taken in the entirety of the first two rounds. When the season started, exactly zero rookie quarterbacks were in the starting lineup.
Here are our picks for the playoffs!
Welcome to the playoffs football fans, we made it. I’ve got to admit, as random at the 2022 season was, it definitely feels like much of this weekend has already been decided. It’s not necessarily that teams coasted into the playoffs without deserving it, but more that particularly in the AFC the injury bug has bitten two teams, at the worst time, at the worst position.
Of course we’re talking about the Dolphins and Ravens, who enter the weekend without Tua Tagovailoa and Lamar Jackson respectively.
It should feel kind of the same for the San Francisco 49ers and the Miami Dolphins as they head into their playoff games this weekend.
No, really.
Think about it: The Dolphins will start their third-string quarterback on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills because starter Tua Tagovailoa is out with a concussion and second-stringer Teddy Bridgewater is managing a dislocated finger in his right (throwing) hand.
That means Skylar Thompson, a rookie quarterback drafted in the seventh round, is Miami’s starter.
The 49ers are in the same situation.
Brian Hartline is the new offensive coordinator at Ohio State.
The former NFL receiver and WR coach for the Buckeyes has been elevated to the team’s OC after several great years of developing an elite position group.
The move comes after Kevin Wilson left to become the head coach at Tulsa.
