The Yankees will be thinking about their nightmare 5th inning in the World Series all winter.
The World Series was headed back to Los Angeles.
Facing a do-or-die Game 5 in the 2024 World Series, the New York Yankees jumped on the Los Angeles Dodgers early Wednesday night, putting three runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning thanks to home runs from Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. With New York adding a run in both the second and the third innings, the Yankees took a 5-0 lead to the top of the fifth inning.

Los Angeles was literally on fire after the Dodgers clinched the World Series on Wednesday night.
Parts of the city were taken over by Dodger fans – some good and some not so good – following the team’s series-clinching win on the other side of the country in New York, with some bad actors lighting a bus on fire and others looting a Nike store.
The Los Angeles Police Department shared on X, formerly Twitter, that a “hostile crowd” of around 200-300 people lit a metro bus on fire near Echo Park just about a mile from Dodger Stadium just after midnight local time.
Who are NFL quarterbacks voting for between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris?
Election Day is this upcoming Tuesday, and it seems like the battle between the former President and sitting Vice President is all anyone is interested in talking about.
I don’t blame them. It’s a heated election and the hot takes are flying. Amid the carnage and chaos, it’s important to remember to have fun with the situation.
That’s why I sat down today and decided to predict who NFL QBs will be voting for.
The Panthers rookie is an absolute gem.
Xavier Legette and the Panthers are headed to Germany next week for their game against the Giants in Munich, and a serious concern for the rookie receiver is what he’ll eat while abroad. A self-professed picky eater, there’s honestly nothing at this point I can say that’s better than hearing about it from Legette himself.
Hopefully Germany will have something good for Xavier Legette to eat. #Panthers pic.twitter.
There comes a time in a manager or coach’s tenure that their run hits a proverbial ceiling. For the select few, they are able to break through, but for many, they aren’t able to ever quite rise to that Championship tier as their wings eventually fall off, and they fall back down to just another regular coach that couldn’t get it done.
After last night’s 5th inning colossal collapse, that manager who has plateaued and almost seems cursed is the New York Yankees’ Aaron Boone.
Welp.
It’s been a brutal period for the Chicago Bulls. Over a decade since they won their division, the Bulls are never bad enough to secure a top draft pick and land a superstar, and never good enough to truly contend for anything other than an early playoff exit.
On Wednesday night the local broadcast of the Bulls game encapsulated it perfectly.
Probably a sign your team is not in great shape when your local broadcast is showing graphics like this. pic.twitter.com/vGt69TmbLk

Olugbode is a top-40 player in the 2025 recruiting class.
The No. 25 Missouri Tigers had a rough game against the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday, losing 34-0 without their starting quarterback and running back, falling to 6-2 on the season.
Still, they remain a top-25 team in the country, with losses coming to Alabama and now-No. 10 Texas A&M, while beating Boston College, Vanderbilt, and Auburn already.

Luke Fickell seemed to indicate depth is a problem for the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Badgers lost a very disappointing game last Saturday to Penn State 28-13. Wisconsin was up 10-7 late into the third quarter when the wheels fell off following a horrible pick six thrown by Braedyn Locke.
Wisconsin was never able to find its footing following the interception, Penn State surged forward with momentum and the defense was clearly exhausted due to the fact it couldn’t get off the field.
