When the dust settled on the 1st round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans didn’t overthink the process. A team in dire need of talent made the biggest splash of Thursday by making back-to-back picks at No. 2 and No. 3, getting their offensive and defensive cornerstones. However, as the night progressed anyone reading between the lines could see that things weren’t nearly as peachy in Houston as we first thought.

Boston got out to a quick 12-2 start in hopes an early haymaker would be enough to deter Atlanta, but they managed to stay in it early and throughout the game with no other double-digit lead by either team at any point in the game. The 14-3 Boston run to separate late, punctuated by a Marcus Smart three, sure did feel like a double-digit lead though.

Will Levis slipped out of the first round of the NFL Draft, and the slide was nothing short of shocking.
Just a couple days ago, the former Kentucky had very high odds of going second overall. There was almost no shot he was going to slip out of the top 10 and ESPN put his odds of dropping out of the first round of less than 1%.
However, that’s exactly what happened, and that means the former Kentucky QB will likely find his team Friday.

Tony Mitchell shed some tears when police slapped on the handcuffs during his March arrest.
The freshman DB, who was a four star recruit in the 2023 class before enrolling, was arrested in Florida in March after police stopped him and allegedly found guns and drugs in his vehicle.
He wasn’t charged for the gun being in the car, but was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and/or deliver. Mitchell is also accused of driving faster than 140 mph in a possible attempt to evade police. He was immediately suspended by head coach Nick Saban.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the first winner on Day 1 of the NFL draft because of his massive contract extension, but he wasn’t the only one, with a handful of teams nailing the first round Thursday night.
The day also started with plenty of question marks, mainly because the Cardinals continued to make head-scratching moves. Trades throughout the first round caused plenty of chaos, including the Texans making two picks inside the top three.
But let’s not waste any more time.
