The WNBA Finals moved to game four on Friday night, with the New York Liberty hoping to clinch their first ever championship over the Minnesota Lynx. New York Governor Kathy Hochul though, got the game started on a sour note by posting an extremely difficult-to-watch video in support of the hometown Liberty.

Game four, though, was anything but tough to watch. A tough, hard-fought game that went back-and-forth for the vast majority of regulation.

After the first two batters of game five of the National League Championship Series, it seemed like the Los Angeles Dodgers would once again dominate the New York Mets. Shohei Ohtani laced a leadoff single, and Starling Marte misplayed a Mookie Betts liner into a double. Second and third nobody out for the Dodgers again. Those few minutes were just about the last time the Dodgers felt good about their chances to clinch a World Series berth on Friday.
Teoscar Hernandez ripped a hard grounder to short for the first out, with Ohtani confusingly not scoring on the play.

AUSTIN — On Thursday at the Circuit of the Americans Nico Hülkenberg met with the assembled media, including SB Nation, in Haas’ hospitality space. During that discussion, the German driver noted his optimism for the weekend, given an upgrade package the team brought to Austin. As Hülkenberg noted, in contrast to the 2023 season, upgrades seemed to be working much better for the team during this campaign.
It seems that optimism was warranted.
