On Saturday, Hall of Fame basketball coach Phil Jackson made headlines when he said he stopped watching the NBA because it became too political. That’s reasonable commentary since many Americans did exactly the same thing. But ESPN’s Jalen Rose is very mad at Jackson.
Why? Because Jalen Rose agrees with the NBA’s political messaging. So, if someone goes against that, they’re … ready for it? Racist.
“[The NBA] was trying to cater to an audience or trying to bring a certain audience to the game, and they didn’t know it was turning other people off,” Jackson said.

It’s been a long time since there was this much excitement at Madison Square Garden over a basketball game. The Knicks’ big Game 4 victory over the Cavaliers on Sunday prompted a huge eruption from New York’s fanbase and the celebration didn’t stop inside the arena.
Knicks fans spilled onto the Manhattan streets after the 102–93 win and completely shut down traffic. Chants of “Knicks in five” can be heard along with some “f— Trae Young” chants for good measure.

On a night where things went from bad to worse for Dillon Brooks, the Grizzlies guard found himself on the receiving end of a scathingly honest assessment from ESPN analyst Doris Burke during Saturday’s 111–101 Game 3 loss to the Lakers.
With Memphis trailing 10–2 early in the first quarter, Brooks was preparing to inbound the ball when Burke and fellow analyst Mark Jones got into a conversation about the 27-year-old’s game.

You don’t need good pipes to sing; just a bit of Hart.
There’s guys in the NBA, such as Dillon Brooks, who make a career out of being despised by general basketball audiences. Then there’s New York Knicks guard Josh Hart, who’s just down to have fun and win basketball games.
Hart was feeling euphoric on Sunday as his team prepared to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Have you heard that ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is a Knicks fan?
The veteran analyst has waxed poetic about his native New York in the past, mostly in miserable circumstances. This Sunday, however, was different.
The Knicks torched the Cavaliers in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series, throwing Cleveland into reverse in a 102–93 win. Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell was rendered a non-factor with 11 points, while New York guards Jalen Brunson and RJ Barrett combined for 55 points between them.

It was a very big deal when DJ Uiagalelei committed to Clemson. The five-star, top-10 recruit was set to take over for Trevor Lawrence and continue the Tigers’ reign near the top of college football.

Three years later, at the end of the 2022/23 season, the tide had completely changed. It was if Uiagalelei couldn’t get out of town fast enough.
Clemson lost three games in back-to-back years, with Uiagalelei at the helm, and the quarterback play played an undeniable role in their struggles.

It was Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia.
Only it was all about Tank Davis.
It was two fighters with knockout power. But only one showed it.
It was a super fight … that turned out super one-sided.
The stars were out inside T-Mobile Arena on Saturday. Mark Wahlberg and Michael B. Jordan. Manny Pacquiao and Mike Tyson. Damian Lillard and Dr. J. On the same night the Lakers faced the Grizzlies in Los Angeles, the marquee event was in Las Vegas. In front of north of 20,000 fans, Davis and Garcia battled for the spotlight. Over seven rounds, Davis was the one who took it.
