Atlanta United and Toronto FC played an incredible MLS match on Saturday night, but it was the ending that had soccer fans buzzing.
Atlanta made what appeared to be the final push in the match, failing to score in the 97th minute with stoppage time coming to an end. Toronto goalkeeper Luka Gavran made a save and held onto the ball.
It appeared that all he had to do was kick the ball deep and the referee would blow the final whistle to end the game. But there was one very important thing that Gavran failed to take into account.

Christian McCaffrey has always been a workhorse. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
And the 49ers wouldn’t, either. That’s why, earlier this month, they signed the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year to a $38-million contract extension that will keep him in San Francisco through 2027.
But at 28, he’s getting old (as far as running backs go, anyway). So now, head coach Kyle Shanahan is tasked with making sure the Niners protect their investment — sometimes in spite of McCaffrey himself.

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris opened the door, and George Russell stormed through
We should just take a moment to catch our breath.
At the start of the Spanish Grand Prix last week a fight at the front of the field between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris off the start opened the door for George Russell to sweep into the lead. However, as you know by now Verstappen eventually wound his way by Russell, holding off Norris down the stretch to capture the Spanish Grand Prix.

Caitlin Clark grew up wanting to play like Diana Taurasi. She never imagined she’d have the opportunity to play against her.
Taurasi made her WNBA debut for the Phoenix Mercury in 2004 — when Clark was just 2 years old. She is the most prolific scorer in league history and, arguably, the best player the WNBA has ever seen.
“It’s incredible, I don’t think many people realize how hard that is to do,” Clark said of Taurasi’s longevity, according to The Indianapolis Star.

Late comedy legend Mitch Hedberg said, “An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs.”
Unfortunately, it turns out they can break, and when they do, they can become faster elevators, which is exactly what happened to fans leaving a Milwaukee Brewers game on Saturday night.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Brewers had just wrapped up a game and fans were heading for the exits.
