MLB’s Gerrit Cole is viewed as arguably baseball’s best pitcher. The ace has been out of action since Spring Training because of injury. Now, Gerrit Cole is ready to return to New York — already viewed as one of the AL’s strongest contenders for October.
Cole’s return can only be seen as a major bump in the Yankees’ stock, riding a hot start to the year, and at the ideal time.
Last season, Cole posted an AL-best 2.63 ERA in 209 innings pitched (0.981 WHIP, 222 Ks).

PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy absolutely choked away the U.S. Open in brutal fashion on Sunday afternoon at Pinehurst. He missed two putts inside four feet in the final two holes, losing by one shot to Bryson DeChambeau.
McIlroy dodged the media after the round, quickly jumping into a car and leaving the golf course after DeChambeau buried a short par putt on the final hole to clinch the championship.
It turns out, McIlroy isn’t quite done dodging his responsibilities.
There’s an argument to be made that no United States golfer is playing better right now than Bryson DeChambeau.
After finishing in sixth place at the Masters and runner-up at the PGA Championship, DeChambeau captured the U.S. Open crown on Sunday.
Obviously, Scottie Scheffler is the #1 player in the world for a reason, but DeChambeau bested him at each of the past two major tournaments.
Xander Schauffele has an argument, as well, having won the PGA Championship and finishing in the Top 10 of all three majors this year.

The list of reasons why Caitlin Clark makes other women in the WNBA uncomfortable is lengthy.
She’s the biggest star in the league. She signed a $28 million endorsement deal with Nike. She is white in a league of mostly black and evidently bitter women.
Clark is also straight. She has a boyfriend. And inside WNBA locker rooms, heterophobia is contagious.
The ongoing disdain for Clark faces from fellow players reminded us of a story from 2017, one involving Candice Wiggins.
Wiggins, who is black but straight, was the 3rd overall pick in the 2008 WNBA draft.

The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry is arguably the best thing that has ever happened to the WNBA. Except, it’s pretty one-sided.
Not just from an on-court perspective, where Clark is 2-0 against Reese in their young WNBA careers, but off-the-court as well.
While Reese has taken several opportunities to throw jabs at Clark, the Indiana Fever rookie has never said anything negative about Reese. In fact, she praises the Chicago Sky forward at every opportunity.
