Legendary boxer George Foreman died Friday night at 76-years-old.
Foreman’s family announced his death in an Instagram post on Friday evening.
“Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose,” the family wrote.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Jeremy Sochan had 23 points, Keldon Johnson added 20 points and the San Antonio Spurs rallied to close on an 11-3 run and beat the injury-depleted Philadelphia 76ers 128-120 on Friday night.
Stephon Castle added 17 points and a season-high 14 assists for San Antonio, which won consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 3.
Quentin Grimes had 25 points and 10 rebounds as Philadelphia dropped its third straight. Justin Edwards added 25 points and Guerschon Yabusele had 23 points and nine rebounds.

Former heavyweight champion George Foreman, who fought and lost against Muhammad Ali in boxing’s iconic 1974 “Rumble in the Jungle” before reclaiming the title two decades later, died Friday aged 76, his family announced in a statement.

Universities in Maine have caved to pressure from the Trump administration on the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports. 
Maine, with the support of Democrat Governor Janet Mills, had been defying an executive order issued by President Donald Trump to prevent males from competing against females in athletic competitions.
But earlier this week, according to a USDA press release, the University of Maine said it would comply with Title IX and limit women’s sports to women.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Donovan Dent scored 21 points and No. 10 seed New Mexico took control late in the second half to defeat seventh-seeded Marquette 75-66 on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Richard Pitino joined his father in the second round after New Mexico (27-7) snapped a four-game NCAA Tournament losing streak and won its first game since 2012. Rick Pitino has No. 2 seed St. John’s playing its next game Saturday against Arkansas.

The Detroit Pistons suffered an injury blow on the road against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. 
With 6:02 remaining in the second quarter, Tim Hardaway Jr. hurt his right leg after accidentally stepping on Mavericks forward PJ Washington’s foot. Hardaway fell and immediately began grabbing his leg, and he eventually limped off of the floor with help from Pistons trainers. 
The Michigan alumnus has started all 66 games he’s appeared in this season, averaging 10.4 points per game on 36% shooting from 3.

March Madness is known for bracket-busters and Cinderella runs, but upsets are rare in the women’s NCAA Tournament, and surprises have been few and far between.
In fact, the lowest seed to ever win a national championship in the women’s NCAA basketball tournament’s 42-year history has been a No. 3 seed and it has only happened three times, most recently the LSU Tigers in 2023. Entering Friday, No. 14 through No. 16 seeds have a combined 1-360 record in the women’s tournament since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1994.

The second round of the men’s NCAA tournament begins on Saturday while the first round of the women’s NCAA tournament continues.
The schedule of the second round makes it much more conducive to flipping between the two tournaments on Saturday afternoon. Just two of the eight men’s games tip off before 5 p.m. ET while 10 of the 16 women’s games begin in the afternoon.

Former heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman died Friday, his family announced through his Instagram account. He was 76 years old.
No cause of death was provided, but he was described as having peacefully departed surrounded by loved ones.

Mauricio Pochettino has yet to deliver much in the way of on-field results, with the US Men’s National Team suffering a disastrous 1-0 defeat to Panama in the Nations League on Thursday night. But off the field, he’s clearly separating himself from other coaches and sports personalities in the best possible way. 
Pochettino was asked this week about the “political overtones” of playing Panama after President Donald Trump’s comments about the Panama Canal.
