Rory McIlroy looked destined for trouble, but then made one heck of an escape on the final hole.
If you watched how Rory McIlroy birdied the 18th hole on Thursday at The Players, you will likely remember his closing three for quite some time.
After missing the short grass again off the tee, McIlroy’s ball settled down in the pine straw to the right of the fairway.

The Sixers giving computers a vote on their personnel moves actually sort of explains their cursed season.
There have been a lot of memorable AIs in Philadelphia 76ers history, from Allen Iverson, to Andre Iguodala, to Al Horford if you used an uppercase “I” in a typo instead of a lowercase “l.

Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby, and the other Unrivaled standouts who weren’t named to the All-Univaled teams.
Unrivaled announced the league’s All-Unrivaled First and Second Teams on Thursday — and the results were largely unsurprising.
Napheesa Collier, who has been the league’s most dominant player on both ends, was named to the first team, along with Kayla McBride (Laces Club) and Chelsea Gray (Rose Club).

Spaun. Rory McIlroy, along with TGL stalwarts Min Woo Lee and Billy Horschel, stood one stroke back at -5, followed by an entire cavalcade of players at -4.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ole Miss basketball has a chance to avenge a one-sided loss.
The No. 8-seeded Rebels (22-10) face No. 1 Auburn (27-4) in the SEC tournament quarterfinals on Friday (Noon, ESPN) at Bridgestone Arena. It will be the third meeting between coach Chris Beard‘s Rebels and Bruce Pearl’s Tigers.
The Rebels are 0-2 against Auburn. Ole Miss lost 92-82 in Oxford on Feb. 1 and then 106-76 at Auburn on Feb. 26. The latter defeat was Ole Miss’ biggest loss of the season. The 106 points are the most Ole Miss has allowed under Beard.
Auburn will be well rested.

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen’s assessment caught the scouting combine audience off guard.
A quarterback competition?
After less than two full seasons of evaluating quarterback Anthony Richardson, whom they selected with the fourth overall pick?
“It’s got to be the right guy to create real competition, but we want to create real competition,” Ballard said Feb. 27. “I think it’s good for the team. I think it’s good for Anthony.

The Bills are set to add another player to their receiving corps.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – It was no surprise that Lucas Glover broke down his 6-under 66 on Day 1 at The Players Championship in the simplest terms.
“Hitting a lot of fairways, making a lot of putts. No secret, honestly. You probably can say that most places on Tour,” he shrugged.
Advanced analytics would suggest it was a little more nuanced than that. It was a signature Glover ball-striking round, with the six-time Tour winner first in the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green when he finished his day with 11 of 14 fairways hit.
