The Bruins are the SI Sportsbook to win the Stanley Cup entering the All-Star break.
As we approach the NHL All-Star break this weekend, it is time to check in on the Stanley Cup futures market.
The reigning champion Avalanche opened the season as the SI Sportsbook betting favorites but have dropped from the top perch as they are tied for eighth in the Western Conference. However, oddsmakers still have the defending champions ranked high due to strong convictions that a solid second half will improve their place in the standings. The Avs trail the conference-leading Stars by nine points.

I tried. I gave this stupid sport a chance. Now, three weeks in, I cannot believe this is still something being promoted and aired on television. Wednesday night marked the third week of Power Slap, and the third straight week I tuned in to try and understand its appeal, then turning it off before the end.
For the uninitiated, Power Slap is just what it says on the tin. Two competitors stand a table width apart, one being the slapper, the other the slappee — and they take turns trying to slap each other into submission.

Patrick Kelly, a 26-year-old assistant basketball coach at East Burke Middle School (Connelly Springs, North Carolina), was arrested last week after things turned “violent” when he disagreed with an officiating call.
According to Fox 8, Kelly charged toward the head coach of the opposing team after disagreeing with a foul call. On his way towards the coach, Kelly reportedly shoved an assistant coach and a juvenile who tried to stop him.
Shoving an assistant coach is one thing, but pushing a juvenile is another.

NFL Network analyst Shaun O’Hara had an all-time hot take in reaction to Tom Brady retiring.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced his retirement from the NFL Wednesday morning, and while most reactions were pretty touching, O’Hara came off the top rope with a truly incredible comparison.
“This is a huge moment. Not just for Tom Brady, not just for the NFL, but for all of us. Look, people remember where they were when JFK was assassinated. You remember where you were when 9/11 happened … I’m going to remember this.

She asked whether there was just a small chance she would return to the sport.
Serena Williams has yet to formally say that she is retired from the sport of tennis since she said she was “evolving” away from the sport after the U.S. Open in September. On several occasions she even hinted at a return, but in her latest interview she appeared to shut down any notion of her return to the sport—at least any time soon. 
While appearing on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, she was asked whether “the door was open just a sliver” when talking about a return to tennis.

Celtics trounce Nets by 43, 139-96
With three-and-a-half minutes left in the first quarter, the Boston Celtics held a 38-9 lead and had drained all seven of its three-point attempts. By the end of the first quarter, Boston’s advantage swelled to 30, the score 46-16. The term “unconscious” is often thrown around as it relates to shots falling in basketball, but I’m not sure it had ever been applied as aptly as it was by Mike Breen describing the Celtics in the opening frame.

The French star was subbed off with an injury in the first half against Montpellier on Wednesday.
Kylian Mbappé may have caused a fright to PSG ahead of a busy month with his injury on Wednesday, but manager Christophe Galtier said he’s not too concerned.
The French superstar was subbed off in the 21st minute of the club’s 3–1 win over Montpellier yesterday after clutching his knee and thigh following a challenge. However, Mbappé was able to walk off the field on his own power.
“Is it a bruise? Is it a contusion?” Galtier said in the postgame press conference.

Tom Brady appeared to have wrapped up his illustrious NFL career Wednesday when he announced in a video he was “retiring for good.”
Brady spent the final three seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning a Super Bowl, a Super Bowl MVP and two division titles. He finished with a losing record in 2022 for the first time in his career as a starter but still managed to drive the Buccaneers to the postseason.
They lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

MOBILE, Ala. – There is no doubt that, compared to year’s past, this isn’t the sexiest quarterback class at the Senior Bowl. But, that doesn’t mean the guys here aren’t turning heads, especially Louisville’s Malik Cunningham and TCU QB Max Duggan.
Surrounded by his former coach Scott Satterfield, the former Louisville Cardinals quarterback was all smiles during the post practice media session Wednesday. It certainly wasn’t only because his former coach was in town, no, it centers around his play on the field.
