A New York City Democrat Public Advocate wants the New York Mets to change the name of Citi Field because of climate change. You can’t make it up.
What’s the word after ridiculous? Because that’s where we are these days.

Citi doesn’t represent the values of Mets fans or NYC. If they refuse to end their toxic relationship with fossil fuels, the Mets should end their partnership with Citi.

Starting with this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, don’t expect to see one of Formula 1’s greatest photo ops — pitwall celebrations — anymore.
Bummer.
If you’ve ever seen a Formula 1 race you’ve seen this exact thing. Mechanics and team members climb the debris fence between the track and the pit lane to welcome their drivers across the line. It’s become something of a tradition; a cool reminder of how much of a team sport Formula 1 is.
Race director Niels Wittich said that these celebrations will no longer be allowed.

The biggest night in wrestling is upon us and the stage is set for SoFi Stadium. The home of the Chargers and Rams will play host to WrestleMania 39. The matchups for the two-night event were announced Thursday.
The pay-per-view event will feature six championship matches featuring some iconic wrestlers along with some famous names that are infamous outside of the WWE universe like Ronda Rousey and Logan Paul making their WrestleMania returns. Paul made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 38 as The Miz‘s tag team partner, where the duo triumphed.

The Los Angeles Lakers moved to 38-38 Wednesday following their win over the Chicago Bulls (36-40). ESPN’s Jay Williams reacted to the win by going on national television and pleading that this Lakers team is a legitimate contender and could win an NBA title this postseason.
Williams is one of the most level-headed people at ESPN and played one season in the NBA – there is no denying he knows ball – but his take on the Lakers may be the biggest overreaction of the season.

.@RealJayWilliams on the Lakers:
“That is a team last night that can win a world championship.

Opening Day is a special one for everyone who loves baseball. For MLB rookies who are set to make their big league debuts, it is all the more impactful.
To celebrate rookies making their major league debuts today, and for the rest of the season, MLB has added a special element to those players’ jerseys.
Those players will wear “MLB Debut” patches on their jerseys for the game. Afterward, the patches will be added to Topps rookie trading cards for those players, making for a set of incredibly significant collector’s items.

At 80 years old, born in 1942, Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank was not familiar with 2 Chainz, the Grammy Award-winning rapper previously known as Tity Boi. 2 Chainz is based out of Atlanta and a big Falcons fan.
The connection between the rapper and the team led to a funny moment between him and Blank.
Earlier this week, Robert Kraft revealed that Meek Mill texted him and said that Lamar Jackson wants to join the Patriots. Blank does not have any rappers blowing up his phone, like Kraft, but he does occasionally text with Zac Brown.

College basketball will descend upon Texas this weekend, with the men’s Final Four being held in Houston and the women tipping off in Dallas. Both tournaments have seen plenty of upsets, surprises and madness on the way to the Lone Star State—making for a compelling end to the Big Dance. For fans looking to take in the final games of March Madness, there are still tickets available, and the market is revealing some interesting truths about this year’s men’s and women’s tournaments.

The Kings ended their longstanding playoff drought on Wednesday night after beating the Trail Blazers 120–80. Sacramento is going to the postseason for the first time since the 2006 playoffs—but it also means something else for an NFL team.
Another franchise now holds the longest playoff drought among teams in the four major American sports leagues: the Jets.
New York’s 12-year playoff drought is now the longest of any team.
