The run on QBs is real in the latest projection, as they make up the first four picks followed by defensive players with franchise-altering abilities.
After a season plagued with injuries, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford started off his team’s offseason program by answering questions regarding his return in 2023 and if he ever doubted that’d he’d be back at 35 years old.
“I mean, I felt really confident I was coming back,” Stafford said Monday. “I feel like more people were less confident in that than I was. But I was ready to go, ready to play as soon as I was cleared. And I feel great, I feel healthy. I’m not 25, but I definitely feel good.
Last week, Haley and Hanna Cavinder announced they would forgo their fifth and final season of college basketball eligibility at the University of Miami, choosing to start the next phase of their lives instead. Instead, the social media stars will begin training with the WWE in hopes of becoming a part of the wrestling industry.
“We love the WWE,” Haley said last week. “Their fanbase, their sport, the fitness side of it. That fits to Hanna and I’s brain and aligns great with us. So yeah, we’re very excited about the future with them.
“Mock, mock til’ you drop. Mock, mock never stop!”
Alright, that’s not exactly how the old Def Leppard song goes. But it sure fits if you’re an NFL fan heading into the 2023 draft. I’ve been in the mock draft mood, too, with a fantasy players only first round NFL mock in addition to my latest one-man, five-round fantasy mock. In an effort to cover all of my bases, I figured I’d throw my hat into the ring and join the masses with my own “real” NFL mock in the first round.
Blue Jays reliever Anthony Bass took to Twitter on Sunday to voice his complaints over the treatment of his wife during a recent flight with United Airlines.
In an attempt to put the airline on blast, Bass revealed that his 22-week pregnant wife was “made” to clean up the mess made by their children. In the reliever’s eyes, the airline’s “cleaning crew” should be responsible for tidying up after his child spilled their popcorn.
Arch Manning’s first “game” at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium did not go well. That’s okay.
He’s 17.
Manning, the most polarizing recruit in recent history, carries the most famous last name in football. His every move over the last few years have been well-documented— even here at OutKick.
As the nephew of Eli and Peyton, grandson of Archie and son of Cooper made his college decision, there was plenty of scrutiny. Everybody had, and still has, an opinion.
“He wouldn’t even be a five-star without his last name.”
“Overrated.”
“He plays against JV teams.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed quarterback Jalen Hurts to a massive contract extension on Monday. He’s the second NFC East signal-caller to get a big contract this offseason. The New York Giants committed to Daniel Jones in early March. Dak Prescott is entering year three of a four-year $160M deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
All told, those three NFC East QBs have contracts worth just under $500 million total. But are any of the three in the Top 5 in the NFL among quarterbacks? Top 10?
It’s close, but mostly because the quarterback position is relatively weak right now.
The signals from 236 major league games played under the new rules indicate the stolen base environment will have a bigger impact on strategy than the ban on shifts.
It’s much too early to draw conclusions, but there are trends emerging. Batting average on balls in play is up from .290 to .299—which is something, but only enough to bring the game back to where it was in 2017. Balls in play per game are actually down slightly because of increases in the walk and strikeout rates.
The Seahawks created some more room on their roster for incoming rookies on Monday. The team announced that they have parted ways with five players. They waived defensive tackle Jarrod Hewitt, cornerback Chris Steele, running back Darwin Thompson, wide receiver Connor Wedington, and wide receiver Easop Winston.
