Auburn gymnast Suni Lee announced Monday that she is dealing with a non-gymnastics related kidney issue that has kept her out of meets. The Tigers’ medical staff did not clear Lee, who has been out of action for the past month, to train or compete over that span.
Lee, who already announced that this would be her final collegiate season, will now shift her focus towards preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“It’s been challenging to end my Auburn career early, but I am thankful for all the love and support,” she said in a statement.

Former Masters champion Fred Couples said he doesn’t dislike any of the players who have defected to the LIV Golf League, which is being financed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, but he doesn’t like some of the comments they’ve made.

At the end of the Women’s College Basketball National Championship game, LSU star Angel Reese aggressively taunted Iowa star Caitlin Clark.
Of course, many people — including myself — had a problem with this. Not only did Reese continue taunting for over 10 seconds, but she stalked Clark around the court. She also yelled at Clark, trying desperately to get her attention.
She wanted Clark to have to look at her taunting. Reese attempted to create confrontation. And she did it very aggrssively.

Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco made his 2023 debut on Monday against the Brewers, but things didn’t get off to a flying start for the veteran right-hander.
While facing his first batter of the season, before even throwing his first pitch, Carrasco received a pitch clock violation from home plate umpire Alan Porter.
The official issued the automatic ball to the 36-year-old, in what was an unfortunate start to the campaign in his first taste of the new pitch clock rules.

ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard announced Monday he underwent surgery on his middle finger and had a tumor successfully removed. ESPN declined to comment on the surgery.
“Doc said the surgery went well, the tumor was removed,” Howard wrote on Instagram. “But as you can see, I am still in the clouds. Middle finger back in action in no time!”
In an earlier Instagram post Monday morning, Howard posted himself with his middle finger on his right hand up and a big smile before surgery.
“Happy Monday! Context is always important,” Howard wrote.

Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins’s 22-game absence is because his father, Mitchell, has been working through a “serious medical situation,” The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Monday.
Wiggins, who has been away from the team since mid-February, was reportedly set to return this week after dealing with a “family matter,” per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Neither Wiggins nor the team have confirmed the reason for his prolonged absence.
According to Charania, Wiggins is expected to attend (but not play in) the team’s Tuesday game against the Thunder.

It’s the Huskies vs. the Aztecs with everything on the line in a game that has the potential to be special.
An irregular college basketball season will come to an irregular conclusion Monday night, with a No. 4 seed battling a No. 5 seed for the sport’s national championship.
Here are four reasons why the matchup between Connecticut and San Diego State is something everyone should be excited about.
1.

Given that Greg Norman is the CEO of LIV, his opinion suggesting that people — and the Masters as a tournament — should want to see LIV golfers contend at Augusta National is biased. But that doesn’t mean he’s wrong.
A total of 18 LIV golfers will be teeing it up in the Masters later this week. It will be the first Masters contested with LIV golfers in the field as the likes of Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith, Patrick Reed, and Bryson DeChambeau headline the group of players that have bolted for the Saudi-backed circuit.
