The longest day in golf was not too kind to LIV Golf players looking to earn a spot into the field of next week’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
A total of 17 players on the Saudi-backed circuit teed it up on Monday in one of the 10 U.S. Open qualifying sites in North America, and only three walked away with invitations to play in the year’s third major championship.
LIV’s Eugenio Chacarra was the first to earn his spot in next week’s field before David Puig and Dean Burmester followed in his footsteps by successfully qualifying over the course of 36 holes.

The Formula 1 driver transfer market has been filled with conjecture for the past few months.
But another domino fell today in that market, and a massive one at that.

Well, this is a different way to establish a bond and relationship in the offseason: New York Jets coach Robert Saleh and Haason Reddick have had no communication since the pass rusher joined the team April 1.
Reddick has not participated in the team’s conditioning program or OTAs. That’s not a huge issue, because it’s voluntary for players. But Saleh on Tuesday was asked if he’s had any communication at all with Reddick:
“I have not,” the coach replied.
Again, Reddick joined the team over two months ago.

Here are the fights to watch around the NFL.
The road to the NFL regular season is underway. Tuesday, June 4 marks the start of mandatory minicamps around the league, and while optional camps have been going for the past few weeks, this marks the first time we’ll begin hearing in earnest about some of the biggest camp battles.

Scottie Scheffler may have had the handful of charges against him dropped and the legal side of things squashed, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he was put in handcuffs and thrown in the back of a cop car outside the gates of the PGA Championship. 
Speaking ahead of this week’s Memorial Tournament, in what was his first formal press conference since his charges were dropped on May 29, Scheffler spoke candidly about his level of relief with how things have since played out in his favor.
