For the first time in a long time, there is an actual light at the end of the Dale Earnhardt Jr./Teresa Earnhardt tunnel.
And hey … it ain’t a train barreling towards us NASCAR folks getting ready to flatten us once again. This time, it’s actual sunshine. Real light!
As of today, Teresa – who also goes by the Wicked Witch of NASCAR (probably not by choice, though) – no longer holds the trademark for Junior’s famous DEI No. 8. After two decades of holding the most popular font in NASCAR hostage, it appears she’s moved on to bigger and better things.

The Astros are off to one of their worst starts in years. There’s still plenty of time left in the season but they need to get going and quickly, or else.
Ten years ago, you could’ve argued that any type of major and sustained success for the Houston Astros would’ve been uncharted territory for them. After all, following the 2014 series this was a franchise that had won a grand total of three (3) playoff series and one (1) pennant over the course of 53 seasons of existence in Major League Baseball.

After a tumultuous few weeks for Alpine and Esteban Ocon, the driver is looking to move on in Montreal
To say it has been an eventful few weeks for Esteban Ocon and Alpine might be an understatement.
During the opening lap of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix Ocon tried to overtake teammate Pierre Gasly, causing a collision between the two Alpine drivers. Ocon’s A524 suffered substantial floor damage in the incident, which forced his early retirement from the race.
Novak Djokovic is reportedly set to have surgery on his torn meniscus in Paris after withdrawing from the French Open. With Wimbledon less than a month away, the 24-time Grand Slam winner may not be able to take the grass courts.
The Serb tore the meniscus in his right knee during his fourth-round match against Francisco Cerundolo. Djokovic trailed 2-1 in the match, but despite picking up the serious knee injury, was able to battle back and take the next two sets to best the Argentinian.
Bob Costas appeared on CNN’s NewsNight With Abby Phillip on Monday night alongside Cari Champion. The trio discussed the drama in the WNBA surrounding Caitlin Clark.
One comment from Costas, in particular, made the rounds on social media Tuesday. Costas said that a foul committed against Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese by Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas didn’t garner the same attention as Chennedy Carter fouling Caitlin Clark because it was a “black-on-black incident.

As part of his reserve duties with Alpine, Jack Doohan will climb into the A524 in FP1 this weekend.
Earlier this week, Alpine and Esteban Ocon announced that the parties would be parting ways at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season. That announcement kicked off conjecture regarding who might replace Ocon next year.
Now one of the leading candidates is getting their first crack at driving the A524.
Alpine announced Wednesday that Jack Doohan, the team’s reserve driver, would be replacing Ocon in Friday’s first practice session.

Super Regionals are set for the Men’s College World Series
A field that began with 64 teams chasing Omaha dreams is down to 16.
And by the end of this coming weekend, the final eight will be on their way to Nebraska, and the Men’s College World Series.
Regional action last weekend whittled the starting bracket of 64 teams down to just 16, and now the tournament shifts to a best-of-three series with eight matchups, starting on Friday.
Miami Dolphins QB Tau Tagovailoa, apparently, wants people to believe he doesn’t know his weight.
Seeing as how NFL players are run through rigorous weight and conditioning programs and are monitored by nutritionists and dietitians and medical staff, one of the few things regularly known about them is their weight.
Tua has seemingly shed a significant amount of weight this offseason. In fact, he looks borderline unrecognizable.
While there’s no doubt Tua has lost weight, he doesn’t seem overly interested in explaining it to the media.
People in the NFL want to get their money yesterday, maybe earlier, for work they’re about to do in the coming years. So it’s been interesting surveying how some players are handling business in communicating their desires for two things:
Getting paid right.
And getting paid ASAP.
Around the league, outstanding players such as CeeDee Lamb, Brandon Aiyuk, Tua Tagovailoa, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence, Micah Parsons, Tyreek Hill, Dak Prescott, Tee Higgins, Haason Reddick, and perhaps others are eagerly anticipating contract news from their agents.
Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer keeps pressuring MLB to give him a fair shot at returning to the majors.
Bauer resurfaced on social media Tuesday, replying to the announcement that Shohei Ohtani had been cleared of any wrongdoing by the league over the Ippei Mizuara betting scandal. Mizuhara, Ohtani’s longtime interpreter, pleaded guilty to bank and tax fraud charges Tuesday and faces up to 33 years in prison.
Bauer, who last played in the majors in 2021, has been on the outside looking in after several sexual assault allegations derailed his superb baseball career.
