Dan Campbell has locked up a contract extension with the Lions.
Campbell is fresh off leading Detroit to its best season in more than 30 years, and fans have never been more excited about the future of the franchise.
The Lions are now doing what it takes to make sure he doesn’t leave. The team announced Thursday morning that Campbell and GM Brad Holmes have both locked down extensions.
Specific contract details aren’t known, but he definitely deserves to be among the highest-paid coaches in the league.
Dan Campbell deserves every single penny of whatever the Lions are paying him.

DT Christian Wilkins, QB Kirk Cousins, RB Saquon Barkley and WR Calvin Ridley all got major money to change homes. At this point, most of the top free agents are picked over, but there are still some intriguing names left on the market.

The Pittsburgh Penguins’ plans to honor franchise legend Jaromir Jagr during Thursday’s game at PPG Paints Arena have been thwarted by a massive bobblehead heist.
The Penguins announced that the shipment carrying the Jagr bobbleheads, which were meant to be distributed at Pittsburgh’s home matchup against the San Jose Sharks, was stolen in California. 
The team has contacted the manufacturer along with state and federal authorities who are working to locate the shipment. The investigation is currently ongoing.

NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas is demanding Michael Jordan apologize to him if the GOAT wants to ever be friends again.
Appearing on the Draymond Green Show, Thomas was asked about his strained relationship with Jordan that stems back to the Bulls star’s rookie year when Isiah allegedly advocated for not letting MJ be selected as an All-Star. Years later, Jordan got his revenge, as rumor has it that he kept Thomas from being on the Dream Team.

The Detroit Lions have agreed to contract extensions with coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes, the team announced Thursday. Both deals will keep the duo in Detroit through the 2027 season. 
“We are thrilled to have Brad and Dan under contract for the next four seasons,” Lions Owner Sheila Ford Hamp said in the release. “They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed. The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field.

Veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks, a former first-team All-Pro for the Minnesota Vikings, had an agreement in place to join the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. Instead, he’s flipped to one of the 49ers’ NFC rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
ESPN’s Todd Archer reported Wednesday night that the 32-year-old will sign a one-year contract with the Cowboys.
The move reunites him with his former Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer, who’s now the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator under Mike McCarthy.

Injuries to Devin Williams and David Bednar have shaken up the closer rankings before the 2024 MLB season even begins. In other closer news, Aroldis Chapman touches 75 — though not on the radar gun.
The Milwaukee Brewers will be without Williams, their star closer, for at least three months after it was discovered he has two stress fractures in his back. Williams made two appearances this spring before pausing activity due to back soreness. He will be completely shut down for at least six weeks before resuming activity, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

Baker Mayfield is just one year removed from participating in a full-blown quarterback competition for the starting job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After an impressive season that led to a three-year, $100 million contract extension, one of his former coaches with the Cleveland Browns is offering immense praise to the 28-year-old.
Gregg Williams, who held the interim head coaching role in Cleveland for eight games in 2018, believes he and Mayfield could have won a title with the Browns.

An incredible video shows the ACC mascots generating some bizarre looks on the D.C. metro.
The ACC is hosting its conference tournament in Washington, D.C., and as we covered Wednesday, attendance is poor and tickets are cheap.
Yet, a lack of interest hasn’t stopped the mascots from enjoying their time in the city. That included a trip to the metro.

In a sad bit of news, Pittsburgh Penguins fans who shoved their grandma’s ashes aside to clear a spot on their mantle for the brand-spankin’-new Jaromoir Jagr bobblehead they were scheduled to receive on Thursday night are going to be disappointed.
That’s because it appears someone has stolen the team’s shipment of thousands of bobble-Jagrs.
The Penguins announced on social media Thursday morning, hours before the bobbleheads — which featured the NHL legend giving his iconic salute — were scheduled to be distributed when the Pens host the San Jose Sharks.
