The Hawkeyes saw a second-round exit last year, but a more balanced effort—and their star player’s stellar passing ability—has them in the Sweet 16 this time around.
Caitlin Clark has made her name on her scoring. This is what fills the highlight reel—her buzzer beaters, her logo shots, her dramatic baskets. But her passing game is what truly sets her apart. The same court vision that makes her such an effective scorer makes her unrivaled as a distributor. And it was that passing ability that was crucial to punching Iowa’s ticket to the Sweet 16 on Sunday.

Anyone who plays golf at any level knows that it’s a cruel game. Adam Schenk learned the hard way just how vicious the sport can be at the Valspar Championship.
Casual golf fans probably aren’t that familiar with Schenk, who has never won a PGA Tour event. In fact, most fans probably tuned in Sunday to watch Jordan Spieth. Spieth and Schenk played together in the final grouping during the fourth round on Sunday.
Schenk became most “famous” for playing in his 10th consecutive PGA Tour event. He has not taken a weekend off this year.

A P5 for Lewis Hamilton and a P4 for George Russell has Mercedes feeling optimistic
It took a penalty for Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso, but Mercedes notched their first podium of the 2023 Formula 1 season in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and the team now sits tied with Aston Martin in the Constructors’ Championship.
That success has certainly changed the mood around the Silver Arrows, who now look ahead to the Australian Grand Prix wondering if they can not just separate from Ferrari and Aston Martin, but push even closer to Red Bull.

Fernando Alonso finished third, then he didn’t, and then he did again
It took a lot longer than expected, and an appeal of a penalty to boot, but Fernando Alonso can now say with certainty that he finished in third place at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
And that he has earned 100 podiums over his illustrious Formula 1 career.

The Missouri Tigers’ football program suspended defensive star Chad Bailey after an early-morning Sunday arrest.
A seemingly intoxicated Bailey was pulled over for a lane violation while driving with a suspended license and performed “poorly” during a field sobriety test, first reported by The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Coach Eli Drinkwitz released a statement on Bailey’s arrest hours later, announcing the 23-year-old linebacker’s indefinite suspension. According to the school’s conduct guidelines, players receive a one-week-minimum suspension for arrests.

GREENSBORO- An arena full of Kentucky blue couldn’t will the Wildcats to a win on Sunday afternoon, with Kansas State sending them home on the first weekend, again. The chants of ‘Go Big Blue’ weren’t enough to carry this Kentucky team to the Sweet-Sixteen, as Keyontae Johnson delivered a dagger with 1:23 remaining.
The Kansas State crowd, tiny compared to BBN, started their own chants with :39 seconds remaining, sending Kentucky fans headed for the exits. If you were a fan of college basketball, this game certainly delivered, with eight lead changes in the second half alone.

Cooks goes from a No. 1 receiver in Houston to the second option in Dallas, but his presence is good news for Dak Prescott.
The Dallas Cowboys have acquired veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks for a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Cooks will move on to a much better offensive attack, but I wouldn’t expect an increase in terms of his overall fantasy football draft value in 2023.
Cooks was the top option in the Texans’ pass attack over the last three years.
