Sports fans tuning into Thursday night’s State of the Union address may spot a familiar face from the college football world taking in President Joe Biden’s annual speech.
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D–Mich.), who represents Ann Arbor as part of the state’s sixth congressional district, announced that new Michigan coach Sherrone Moore will attend the speech in Washington as her guest.

The New Orleans Saints are expected to release wide receiver Michael Thomas ahead of the start of NFL free agency on Wednesday, according to Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune.
Thomas, 31, was once a premiere wide receiver in the NFL but in recent years he’s struggled to stay on the field and when he has, he’s looked like a shell of his former All-Pro self. Since setting the NFL single-season record for catches (149) in 2019, Thomas has appeared in just 20 games. This past season, he started in seven of his 10 games played, tallying 39 catches for 448 yards and just one touchdown.

Russell Wilson is set to become a free agent as soon as his release from the Denver Broncos becomes official, and apparently he’s already receiving interest from one prominent team in need of a veteran quarterback.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have interest in signing Wilson and are already set to meet with the free agent, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reported Thursday. Dulac also reports that Wilson has mutual interest in potentially joining the Steelers.

The fired former Voice of Alabama Football Eli Gold has landed a second new job.
He will be the television voice of Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Alabama, near Birmingham for football, men’s basketball and baseball. And he may do some radio in a pinch along with the regular radio voice Mike Parris, who has been there for four decades.
“My voice is good,” Gold told the Anniston Star newspaper Thursday. “My brain is sharp. Everything is good. So, I was quick to accept the offer, and I’m looking forward to it.
