Philadelphia Eagles fans are livid after a San Francisco 49ers fan dressed the famed ‘Rocky’ statue in a Niners shirt.
If anyone knows anything about Philly, that’s a big no-no. Those fans are psychotic over their love and appreciation of Rocky. Seriously. I believe Eagles fans care more about the Rocky statue than the Liberty Bell. And to have someone tarnish the iconic Philly image? Whew, not great.
Of course that’s if I actually was a fan of Philadelphia. Of which I am not.

First-year quarterbacks to win in the playoffs include Russell Wilson, a 34-year-old, and… T.J. Yates?
The further 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy advances in the playoffs, the more the following scenario unfolds: fans across the country, ruminating on couches and barstools, wonder whether Purdy would be the first rookie quarterback to take his team to the Super Bowl.
Purdy, already one of just nine rookies ever to win a postseason game, would indeed be the first rookie quarterback to win a conference title in the Super Bowl era.

The tight end has played in every game this year.
Just a day before the AFC championship game, the Chiefs are dealing with an unexpected injury. Kansas City is already dealing with Patrick Mahomes’ sprained ankle, and now star tight end Travis Kelce must alleviate a late injury.
The team listed Kelce as questionable with a back injury after he practiced fully throughout the week. CBS announced Jim Nantz, who is broadcasting the Farmers Insurance Open remotely from Kansas City, said on the golf broadcast that he was told Kelce tweaked his back during practice on Friday.

Steph Curry has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing his mouthpiece during a heated moment on Wednesday’s night.
Yes, even one of the biggest names in the game let’s emotions get the best of him.
Curry became visibly angry after teammate Jordan Poole shot a long three-point attempt when Curry was calling for the ball late in the fourth quarter. After Poole missed the shot, Curry took his mouthpiece and threw it towards the sideline.
Steph Curry was ejected and fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing his mouthpiece.

The mastermind behind the Bulldogs offense for the program’s back-to-back national titles, may be making the leap back to the NFL.
Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken interviewed with the Ravens this week, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the latest indication that the highly-touted Bulldogs assistant is eyeing a return the professional coaching ranks.
On Friday, ESPN’s Jenna Laine reported that Monken plans to meet with the Buccaneers next week after Tampa fired Byron Leftwich following the team’s elimination from the playoffs in the wild-card round.

Ed Reed found his phone after a few days off, fired up the Instagram Live and gave us a SPICY few minutes of ripping Bethune-Cookman (and more Shannon Sharpe!) to start our weekends strong.
The NFL Hall of Famer was fired (?) one week ago from a job he never technically had: head football coach at the Daytona Beach HBCU.
Reed and the school agreed in principle to a deal last month, but the university ended up not ratifying it after negotiations stalled and tensions rose after Reed blasted campus conditions in a now-viral video.

The two had worked together since 2017.
On Friday, the Falcons hired Saints co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen as their new defensive coordinator, poaching him away from their division rival.
Nielsen coached the Saints defensive line since 2017, and was a huge part of the defense’s resurgence under then-defensive coordinator and now-head coach Dennis Allen. Nielsen’s former best player, Cameron Jordan, said it was “inevitable” that Nielsen get his own defense to run, while also lamenting him going to the Saints’ biggest rival.
