The Bulldogs star was emotional after the NCAA tournament loss.
Gonzaga‘s run in the NCAA tournament didn’t end as the program had envisioned. The Bulldogs were beat down 82–54 by UConn in the Elite Eight on Saturday.
Star center Drew Timme was in foul trouble for much of the game, ending the night with 12 points and 10 rebounds in what was potentially his final game for the Zags.
While Timme has another year of eligibility left in the NCAA, it’s unclear if he plans to continue his college basketball career.

The Wildcats’ head coach was classy in defeat.
Kansas State‘s run in the NCAA tournament came to an end Saturday, but the Wildcats showed nothing but class after their loss in the Elite Eight. With FAU punching a ticket to the Final Four, Kansas State coach Jerome Tang had some parting words for the Owls ahead of their next big game.
Tang visited FAU’s locker room after his Wildcats lost and delivered a heartwarming message to the Owls squad, saying he’d be supporting the Owls throughout the rest of their tournament run.

The Owls add more proof that they are far more than just a happy-to-be-here group of plucky upstarts.
NEW YORK—At the base of the basket stanchion appropriately bathed in a spotlight, Bryan Greenlee was somehow by himself. Despite the pockets of celebrations around him, and the procession up the ladder to cut pieces of the net, he was able to find some amount of solitude to call his girlfriend, Angelina, in the midst of it all. He told her the run doesn’t end here, minutes after his Owls beat Kansas State, 79–76, to go to the Final Four.

The Huskies cruised to yet another blowout in the Elite Eight to continue their run of dominance.
Days after cruising past Arkansas in the Sweet 16, UConn continued its romp through the men’s NCAA tournament in dominant fashion.
The Huskies earned the school’s first trip to the men’s Final Four since 2014 by crushing Gonzaga 82–54 in the West regional final on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
UConn, which took a 39–32 lead into halftime, dominated the Bulldogs in the second half, outscoring the No. 3 seed 43–22 over the final 20 minutes. Dan Hurley’s squad shot a blistering 35.

The Owls’ commentator nearly missed out on the biggest moment of his career.
Florida Atlantic‘s historic run through the NCAA tournament reached new heights Saturday after the Owls knocked off No. 3 Kansas State in the Elite Eight in order to reach the program’s first Final Four.
For FAU Radio Network’s Ken LaVicka, this is one of the pinnacles of his career. And the commentator almost missed out on calling the final moments of the win due to a technical malfunction at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.

The 51-year-old UNC legend and national champion is beginning treatments.
On Saturday, North Carolina basketball shared that former national champion Tar heel great Eric Montross has been diagnosed with cancer.
The program shared a family-issued statement concerning the health of the 51-year-old Montross, saying that he is beginning treatments and thanking fans for their support.
“We are all touched by the responses our entire family has received since the news became public,” the statement read.

The Owls may have taken a jab at KSU with their post-game music choice.
Florida Atlantic is headed to its first-ever Final Four, and the Owls didn’t hold back with their post-game celebrations. After sending Kansas State crashing out of the tournament, despite the valiant efforts of Markquis Nowell & Co., FAU celebrated its win by subtly trolling the Wildcats.
After punching their ticket to Houston for the Final Four, the Owls flaunted their win by dancing to music by rapper Lil Baby, in what appeared to be a jab at Kansas State.
