MLB commissioner Rob Manfred spoke out against New York Mets owner Steve Cohen recently.
Cohen has made waves across the league since taking over in Queens a few years ago, mostly for his seemingly excessive spending.
The 2023 version of the Mets will far and away lead the league in payroll and had the Carlos Correa deal not fallen through, it could have been even higher.
Rival MLB owners have engaged in concerted efforts to stop or slow Cohen, mostly to no avail.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, and former Raven, Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown received his sentencing on Wednesday related to a run-in with the law last year when he got caught speeding nearly double the area’s speed limit.
According to TMZ Sports, an Arizona judge ruled that Brown would be fined $473 for the offense, adding that none of it would be owed by Brown after receiving credit for being jailed on the day of his arrest.

Of all the quarterbacks in Ole Miss football history, Matt Corral is near the top of the list. Chad Kelly, Archie and Eli Manning, Jake Gibbs and Jevan Snead all made their mark on the program, but Corral was just built different.

The former four-star recruit, who is with the Carolina Panthers, led Ole Miss to its first-ever 10-win season in 2021 and etched his name in the history books. However, it took time to get to that point.

The Cardinals will have a new face behind home plate on Opening Day for the first time since 2004.
Following the retirement of legendary catcher Yadier Molina, Willson Contreras is set to take over backstop duties for the organization and is in line to debut for the franchise Thursday in St. Louis against the Blue Jays.
Ahead of his first-ever game for the Cardinals, Contreras paid tribute to Molina with a pair of custom cleats, which he plans to wear on Opening Day.

Former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis made headlines at his Pro Day when he showed up completely jacked. Think, opposite of Tom Brady at the Scouting Combine in 2000.
I mean seriously, look at the difference between these two human beings:

Of course one of those guys is the greatest quarterback in the history of the sport. And it’s not the guy on the left … yet. Just kidding. Will Levis is not going to end his career as the greatest QB of all-time.

The Lions are bringing back a familiar face in free agency, having reportedly agreed to a contract to add veteran wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. to the mix in Detroit.
The wide receiver announced the reunion on Twitter, sharing his excitement over his return to Motown, where he previously spent five seasons.
Via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Jones is signing with the Lions on a one-year, $3 million deal, which could reach a max value of $5 million through incentives.
The 10-year veteran will join a wide receivers room in Detroit which already boasts Amon-Ra St.

On the day before the start of the MLB regular season, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn provided reporters with a positive update on the status of relief pitcher Liam Hendriks, who’s currently undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Hendriks revealed his diagnosis back in January.
“In recent days, we’ve received positive news on Liam’s progress. He remains in treatment, still has some work ahead of him,” Hahn said, per WGN’s Josh Frydman.
