BOSTON – Jason Kidd made 10 All-Star teams during his NBA career, earning his place among the great playmakers with size, skill and, yes, smarts. Kidd saw the game better than most, still does. On Saturday, as Kidd’s media availability was wrapping up, he was asked a a boilerplate question about Jaylen Brown’s game.
“Well, Jaylen,” Kidd said, “is their best player.”
Boom, there’s your story. Kidd knew what he was doing with that answer. Of course he did. Few dynamics are more closely scrutinized than Brown and Jayson Tatum.

The NHL’s Florida Panthers and NFL’s Carolina Panthers came into existence around the same time—the teams began play in 1993 and 1995, respectively—but they sit at opposite ends of the success spectrum in 2024.
The hockey Panthers, after Saturday’s Game 1 victory, are three wins away from their first Stanley Cup title. The football Panthers are licking their wounds after a 2–15 season, their worst since going 1–15 in 2001.
However, differences in fortunes have never stopped some sports fans from mistaking the two teams for each other.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has had a tempestuous offseason after winning the Super Bowl as a rookie.
First, on April 10, police charged Rice with aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injuries for his alleged role in a hit-and-run crash in Dallas. Then, on May 7, police in the same city named Rice a suspect in an alleged nightclub assault.
On Saturday, Rice addressed his legal issues for the first time in Kansas City.
“I’ve learned so much from that,” he told gathered reporters.

If you thought that The International Olympic Committee would take a common sense approach in their guidelines for how transgender athletes are covered at the upcoming Summer Games in Paris, prepare to be disappointed.
It’s one thing to be respectful, but pretending biology is “problematic?” That’s pretty wild.
Unfortunately, that seems to be precisely what the IOC wants ahead of the Paris games, at least according to the organization’s “Portrayal Guidelines.”
This is the third edition of the guidelines, and it’s bizarre.
