Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić just wanted a call from the officials.
Dončić, one of the best scorers in the NBA, has developed a bit of a reputation for being vocal with the league’s referees, especially when he feels he deserved a call.
Such an instance occurred during the third quarter of the Mavericks’ 114–108 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday at the American Airlines Center. Dončić posted up Heat guard Terry Rozier, then leaned into Rozier for the contact while shooting, earning a whistle from the official.

After scheduling conflicts and picking a new date on the calendar, the Denver Nuggets have reportedly canceled their trip to the White House to celebrate their 2023 NBA title.
Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report shared the news during NBA on TNT pregame coverage on Thursday night, explaining that Denver’s decision to cancel their trip set for March 18 is strictly due to basketball reasons.
The Nuggets were originally scheduled to visit the White House for their glorified photo-op with the President in late January, but the Biden administration had to reschedule due to a conflict on its end.
Anthony Edwards’ game-saving block is arguably the most spectacular play of the NBA season.
Anthony Edwards had just missed a free throw that would have given the Minnesota Timberwolves a three-point lead over the Indiana Pacers with seven seconds remaining in the fourth quarter on Thursday night. It was the first mistake of the final period for Edwards, who had willed the Wolves ahead with an amazing shot-making display. It would take one more incredible effort to save the win for Minnesota, and Edwards was ready to deliver.

Gentleman, start those Dodger Dogs!
OK. Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as well, but we’ll workshop it.
Apparently, NASCAR is mulling the idea of holding an actual race at Dodger Stadium, the third-oldest ballpark in this great land.
That’s according to SBJ’s Adam Stern, who reported Thursday that the black suits in Daytona are talking about heading west for their next big venture.
Because, as you all know, folks in California love automobile racing!
That’s … ambitious, to say the least.

The Big Sky Tournament is set to get underway this weekend at Idaho Central Arena in Boise. The Big Sky is likely to be a one-bid league yet again, which means the entire season comes down to the conference tournament.
The tournament debuted a new format last season. With the conference now down to ten teams, the top six teams in the Big Sky conference have a bye into the quarterfinals, while the bottom four teams play in the first round.

Let’s make some NFL free agency predictions on the Eagles, Patriots, Falcons, Packers, Vikings, and more.
It’s already shaping up to be a wild free agency period in 2024. Russell Wilson is being released, Kirk Cousins could find a new home — and that’s before we layer on the cuts the Bills had to make to get under the cap, as well as some of the league’s best running backs all being on the market at the same time.
Former Cincinnati Reds star Joey Votto is clamoring to return to the field, in yet another indication that he has no plans to retire.
The Reds and Votto parted ways this offseason after 17 seasons with the franchise.
“I’m just sitting here jealous,” the 40-year-old Votto said during Thursday’s spring training broadcast between the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves. “As the weather turns and the days get longer and people get excited to be outside. You know, we have a game that is outside. It’s a party. It’s sunny, green grass.
