The Memphis star has provided his first comments since his “terrible mistake,” but what can his team expect from him once his suspension is over?
Ja Morant will be back.
But will Memphis?
Wednesday brought some clarity to the weekslong saga that had paralyzed the Grizzlies. The NBA suspended Morant for eight games after he flashed a firearm in a Denver nightclub earlier this month. In a statement NBA commissioner Adam Silver called Morant’s conduct “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous.

Fans are expecting chalk through the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament
It’s crunch time to get the final picks in before the NCAA Tournament starts in earnest. Before the first tip of the Round of 64 Thursday, the public made their picks for the first weekend and took a look to the Final Four.
The biggest takeaway from college basketball fans at-large – chalk.
Three of the four No. 1 seeds were picked to reach the Final Four by fans, according to the latest SB Nation Reacts survey.
Veteran college basketball official Ted Valentine has worked 10 Final Fours and four national title games. However, he is not officiating the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
Valentine is not allowed. It marks the second year in a row that he is away from March Madness due to an issue that occurred during the 2021 NCAA Tournament, which was held in a bubble.
The 64-year-old was one of six college basketball officials who were removed from the 2021 Tournament after one tested positive for COVID-19.
Who has the most notorious graduate?
It’s March. Maybe you’ve heard of it? The third month of the year, oh and also IT’S BRACKET TIME BABY!
Years ago I did a bracket based on the greatest alumni from each school. It was a ton of fun, and eventually Tina Fey cut down the nets for Virginia. Now we’re doing something a little different.
WELCOME TO THE SHITTY ALUMNI BRACKET! First off, know that this is all extremely subjective. If you love Rob Riggle’s comedy or Moby’s music, then more power to you.

The top of East is shaping up to be a dogfight.
Sixers win sixth-straight, top Cavs, 118-109
This was an odd one, at least down the stretch. Joel Embiid — who finished with 36 points and 18 rebounds — fouled out with 4:12 remaining in the game, leaving the door open for the Cavs. That is, until the charging call for his sixth foul was overturned.

Lakers made a huge mistake by resting Anthony Davis
The Los Angeles Lakers have had an up-and-down season, to say the least. It started with a dismal 2-10 record after a loss to the Sacramento Kings. Then, they were deciding if it made more sense to move Russell Westbrook to the bench, and they were digging themselves a huge hole just 12 games into the season.
The Lakers would eventually move Westbrook to the bench, but that didn’t help them move up in the standings.
No. 9 seed West Virginia and No. 8 Maryland are in a second-half battle in the opening round of 64 game in Birmingham.
The Jets want Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers wants the Jets. The Packers don’t want Aaron Rodgers. This should be easy to resolve, right? It’s not. The Packers want a lot for Rodgers. They want more than they should, frankly. The Jets believe the Packers are being unreasonable.
Los Angeles reportedly wants to run this team back next year.
Kyrie Irving will be a free agent this summer and the star point guard has been rumored to be a target for the Lakers for over a year now in no small part because of his history with LeBron James. However, according to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, Los Angeles won’t be pursuing him this offseason.
While appearing on the HoopsHype podcast, Buha reported that the Lakers made an offer to the Nets for Irving but ultimately felt like they were asking for too much—especially given the uncertainty that tends to follow Irving.
