NEW YORK CITY — For nine minutes and 52 seconds, Madison Square Garden was filled with one chant:
“FAU! FAU!”
Senior guard Michael Forrest hit two consecutive three pointers to give the Owls their first lead since 3-2 in the first half, and from that point on, something clicked.
The energy shifted in Madison Square Garden, the section of FAU fans started to sound less like a quiet band, and more like an avalanche, rolling thunderous chants of “FAU”.

A quick word of warning before the women’s Sweet 16 gets underway today: The schedule is different from the men’s.

The UM Queens signed yet another NIL deal hours before tip-off, once again following in the footsteps of LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne by inking a deal with the same trading card company, Leaf.
“Leaf Trading Cards is beyond excited about working with the top two female NIL athletes in Haley and Hanna Cavinder,” Leaf’s CJ Breen told On3 in a statement. “We have been saving this announcement for March Madness.
The Michigan State coach attributed bad luck to the reason his team lost in overtime in the Sweet 16.
No. 7 seed Michigan State’s season ended in a highly-competitive Sweet 16 tilt with No. 3 seed Kansas State on Thursday night, a men’s NCAA tournament game which ended in overtime and saw the Wildcats advance to the Elite 8.
Kansas State star point guard Markquis Nowell stole the show, as he finished with 20 points and an NCAA tournament single-game record of 19 assists, as the Wildcats disrupted the Spartans defensively with the pick-and-roll.
Elijah Moore is excited to team up with Deshaun Watson and the Browns after being traded to Cleveland from the New York Jets. While there is no denying that catching passes from Watson will be an upgrade over Zach Wilson, Moore made one specific comment about his new QB that is questionable, very questionable.
Moore spoke with the media on Thursday and while many are focusing on his subtle shot at Wilson by calling Watson a “legit quarterback,” it’s what he said about Watson’s perception around the NFL that needs to be discussed.
