LSU star Angel Reese opened up more about her thoughts regarding first lady Jill Biden originally sending an invite to both the Tigers and runners-up Iowa after Sunday’s national title game.
Even though the first lady has since clarified her comments and only extended an invite to the national champions, Reese admitted on the I AM ATHLETE podcast this week that she doesn’t “accept” the apology.
Prior to receiving the White House invitation, Reese revealed that LSU almost had a different interaction with the first lady.

Wide receivers went early and often in the first round of the last two NFL drafts.
In 2022, six receivers were selected in the first 32 picks — one shy of the record set in 2004 — two of which were taken in the top 10. Five wideouts came off the board on Day 1 of the 2021 draft, including three in the top 10 and two among the top-six picks.
The early indication is that the first receiver drafted in 2023 might be in the green room a bit longer than in previous drafts.
When you watch a Major League Baseball game, it’s not uncommon to see umpires miss close calls. The strike zone gets a little fuzzy, and pitches that look like balls can be ruled strikes or vice versa.
Not seen often, however, is a horribly missed call like the one on Wednesday afternoon in the Mets vs. Brewers game.
New York catcher Omar Narvaez slapped a hit into right field that was fair by a few feet. The first base umpire, however, somehow missed the call and ruled it a foul ball.
“If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House,” Reese said.
It’s crystal time!
The Aaron Rodgers situation has fast become a fiasco with there being no signs of life in a trade between the Packers and Jets. The Jets lost the leverage they had by circumventing Green Bay and going to Rodgers directly, and No. 12 voicing his desire to go to New York has allowed the Packers to tighten the screws and try to get as much a possible.
The Mets’ Pete Alonso will likely never wear a mustache again in his life.
Alonso, who previously shaved his mustache mid-game back in 2019, decided to go clean shaven prior to Wednesday’s tilt with Milwaukee.
The star slugger entered Wednesday’s game against the Brewers mired in a 0-for-11 slump that witnessed his batting average dip to a paltry .136. On top of it, his team lost its first two games against Milwaukee by a combined score of 19–0.
After some terrible at-bats over the last several games, Alonso decided to ditch the facial hair—this time prior to first pitch.
In Wednesday night’s St. Louis Cardinals loss to the Atlanta Braves, Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. threw Tyler O’Neill out at the plate in the 7th inning. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol blamed O’Neill’s lack of effort.
The play happened in the bottom of seventh inning with two outs and the Cardinals trailing 4-1. Cardinals pinch-hitter Brendan Donovan singled to right field.
O’Neill attempted to score from second base, but Acuña made a perfect throw and nabbed O’Neill to end the inning.

Although Caitlin Clark has grabbed most of the headlines for Iowa women’s basketball, and rightfully so, fifth-year senior Monika Czinano also deserves her flowers. The 6-foot-3 forward was the Hawkeyes’ second-leading scorer in 2022/23 with an average of 17.1 points per game.
She is also extremely patient.
As good as Czinano was throughout the regular season and during the postseason, nobody could pronounce her name during the NCAA Tournament.
Liam Hendricks has never rung a bell so hard his entire life.
The White Sox closer was teary-eyed as he sounded the ‘Victory Bell,’ after completing his final round of chemotherapy and successfully kicking cancer’s ass.
The video quickly made its away across social media as baseball fans and cancer survivors were ecstatic at the good news.
White Sox RP Liam Hendricks began treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma on January 9th…
Today, he rang the bell after finishing his last round of chemo pic.twitter.
The Diamondbacks ran the Padres off the field Tuesday, and it was beautiful.
Arizona won a nine-inning baseball game in a manner we had not seen in five years: with five stolen bases and two sacrifice flies. The 2018 Rays were the last team to do it.
The D-Backs came back from a 5–1 deficit on the road Tuesday to win 8–6 without hitting the ball out of the ballpark.
