McIlroy may find himself back on the PGA Tour Board yet again after one of the current members resigned from his position.
Rory McIlroy left the PGA Tour Policy Board last year, but now the Northern Irishman may find himself back in leadership.
Sources confirmed that the four-time major winner could see a director role on both the PGA Tour Policy Board and PGA Tour Enterprises with a vote on Wednesday, per The Guardian.
Webb Simpson, a current player director, offered his resignation Monday, requesting that McIlroy replace him.

Russell Wilson can escape pressure from opposing NFL defenses but can’t evade catching online strays.
The new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was invited to toss the first pitch in Monday’s game between the Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers at PNC Park.
Wilson, who’s clocked in plenty of hours on the baseball field before going pro in the NFL and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies, delivered an impressive first pitch but still managed to be the butt of someone’s joke.
And that someone was former offensive lineman Mark Schlereth.

Another 2000s NFL QB is walking away from the game.
Famed Atlanta Falcons quarterback and 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, 38, announced his official retirement Monday, capping a 15-year career.
As part of his decision, Ryan retired as a member of the Falcons, having spent his final season in the league with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. Ryan did not take the field last season, and unlike other aging veteran QBs, Ryan won’t be hanging around waiting for a contender to call.
Atlanta’s social media released a heartfelt video of Ryan making his official announcement.
