The Masters dealt with seriously windy conditions at Augusta National so bad that a former champion almost threw in the towel.
How bad was it at Augusta National on Friday at the 88th Masters Tournament? Players had to deal with wind gusts upwards of 40 miles per hour most of the day.
There are only 22 players at even par or better on the leaderboard out of the 89 participants.
Augusta National is already a challenging track, but it’s nearly impossible when the wind blows like it did Friday.

Johnson, the former Master champion, lost his cool after a triple bogey at the 12th at Augusta National.
Former Masters champion Zach Johnson has seen better days.
Johnson entered Friday’s second round of the 88th Masters Tournament at 4-over after a difficult opening round. Things did not get any better during his second go-round at Augusta National.
But things really went off the rails at the par-3 12th.

Iverson didn’t get a life-size statue. Charles Barkley and Wilt Chamberlain didn’t either.
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm will never be able to live down his infamous quote from two years ago.
On April 11, 2022, Bohm had a night to forget at Citizens Bank Park. In just the first two innings of a game against the New York Mets, he committed three errors in consecutive innings. First Baseman Rhys Hoskins (who is now sliding into middle infielders for the Milwaukee Brewers) got a lot of cardio in chasing down Bohm’s errant throws.
Finally, he fielded a ground ball and completed a throw late in the second inning, and Phillies fans rained a sarcastic cheer on Bohm.
It’s been a pretty good year to be a Florida Panthers fan with some substantial success over the last 12 months.
What I didn’t realize is that success isn’t just on the ice these days, it’s in the stands too, especially with the ladies.
Specifically, as it relates to one Victor E. Rat, who knows how to make the fairer sex swoon… or at least twerk.
For the initiated, the Panthers employ not one, but two costumed mascots. One is named Stanley C. Panther, while the other is a rat named Victor E.
