The Blazers star  laments current state of what matters in the NBA.
1. You won’t often see an athlete open up in such an introspective and nuanced way like Blazers star Damian Lillard did with JJ Redick on the latest Old Man and the Three podcast.
Lillard, who is in his 11th season, spoke about how the NBA has changed over the years, and not for the better, in his opinion. Specifically, Lillard was referencing “ring culture” and how many people think the only thing that matters in a player’s career is winning a championship.

Forget about Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson. What about the great Chad Henne!
New reports are coming out that at least one NFL team reportedly is saying the heck with trying to find a new NFL quarterback via the quarterback draft class this year and instead targeting proven veteran Chad Steven Henne. He also happens to be retired.

With all the backup QB movement, one team checked in this week with recently-retired QB Chad Henne and made him an offer to return, per source. Henne declined the offer and remains retired, for now.

We haven’t even had driver press conferences for the second race of the 2023 Formula 1 season, and already Ferrari has revealed that Charles Leclerc will be taking a 10-place grid penalty for using his third set of control electronic components.
You’re only allowed two of those for the entire season.

Things are going from bad to worse for Ferrari and Charles Leclerc
When Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc closed his eyes before the start of the 2023 Formula 1 season and envisioned how he wanted the campaign to unfold, this is not the start he likely imagined.
Leclerc posted a DNF in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix after a power failure on lap 40. That came hours after the team discovered a problem with the power unit control electronics in his SF-23, requiring Ferrari to change out the unit for a new one.

Bobby Hurley has been great for the Sun Devils men’s basketball team, but it’s not enough to keep things going.

Team Israel lost to the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday, but the night belonged to starting pitcher Jacob Steinmetz. The 19-year-old starting pitcher, who is Major League Baseball’s only active practicing Orthodox Jewish player, struck out three in his debut.

Remember when this happened?
The end of an era is looming in Dallas as the Cowboys are likely going to release running back Ezekiel Elliott in a move that could happen as early as Wednesday, according to multiple reports. 
Elliott has spent all seven of his seasons in the NFL with the Cowboys and won two rushing titles during that time.
Elliott’s likely final play with the team, however, was also his saddest play. Remember how that Cowboys-49ers divisional playoff game ended in January? Mike McCarthy & Co.

Being a sports announcer is a lot tougher than most people think. You have someone talking in your ear while you’re speaking, giving you times and notes to hit. While this is all going on you need to look at your notes to give factoids off-hand like you’ve been watching these players all your life, and on top of that you have to pay attention to the game itself.
Still, it’s never a good idea to accidentally call someone Hitler.

The announcer quickly apologized.

Here are the teams that should be calling the Chargers to ask about their star running back.
Chargers running back Austin Ekeler doesn’t need anyone to remind him he plays a devalued position.
Ekeler benefited from the Chargers’ refusing to meet Melvin Gordon’s contract demands, which led to Gordon holding out for 64 days and missing the first three games of the 2019 season.
The Chargers forgot about Gordon after Ekeler delivered 154 total yards and three total touchdowns during the season-opener against the Colts.
