Fans who bought tickets to this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas hoping to see Chase Elliott behind the wheel of the No. 9 car are going to be disappointed,
They’re also going to wish he had stayed off the slopes.
On Friday evening, news broke that Elliott has sustained a leg injury while snowboarding in Colorado. Elliott — who has been voted NASCAR’s most popular driver five years in a row — will have surgery on Friday night.

ESPN analyst and former University of Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen joined OutKick 360 to talk about all things college football.
One of the things Mullen touched on was the future of college football, specifically how the NCAA seems to be rudderless.

“It’s interesting because the NCAA — the NCAA really needs a vision of what is gonna happen and they don’t want to be that strong voice and that vision right now,” Mullen said.
He talked about how the NCAA is selective in what issues they look at and how they enforce them.

Washington Spirit midfielder Chloe Ricketts signed a three-year deal—that includes a player option with the club in 2026—on Friday, making her the youngest player ever to secure a contract with an NWSL franchise.
Ricketts signed her contract three days sooner (15 years, 283 days) than Olivia Moultrie (15 years, 286 days) did in June 2021 when she signed with the Thorns. The high school sophomore participated in training camp with the Spirit in January as a non-roster player.

The 25-year-old Pro Bowler is currently on the mend after undergoing surgery on a fractured tibia in January.
The Cowboys are set to retain Tony Pollard for at least one more season as the club intends to franchise tag the Pro Bowl running back in the coming days, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday.  
Dallas will reportedly use its tag on Pollard, who’s currently recovering from surgery on his fractured left fibula, in order to keep him under contract through the 2023 season in the event the two sides are unable to work out a long-term deal by Tuesday’s deadline.
