The midfielder’s three-year deal includes a player option in 2026.
Washington Spirit midfielder Chloe Ricketts signed a three-year deal—that includes a player option with the club in 2026—on Friday, making her the youngest player ever to secure a contract with an NWSL franchise.
Ricketts signed her contract three days sooner (15 years, 283 days) than Olivia Moultrie (15 years, 286 days) did in June 2021 when she signed with the Thorns. The high school sophomore participated in training camp with the Spirit in January as a non-roster player.

The 25-year-old Pro Bowler is currently on the mend after undergoing surgery on a fractured tibia in January.
The Cowboys are set to retain Tony Pollard for at least one more season as the club intends to franchise tag the Pro Bowl running back in the coming days, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday.
Dallas will reportedly use its tag on Pollard, who’s currently recovering from surgery on his fractured left fibula, in order to keep him under contract through the 2023 season in the event the two sides are unable to work out a long-term deal by Tuesday’s deadline.

As one of the top reporters in all of sports, Adam Schefter is certainly far from an unreliable source when it comes to breaking news. And, on Friday, the longtime ESPN NFL insider decided to have a little fun with that fact courtesy of an “update” on the future of Lamar Jackson.
During his latest appearance on the Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take, Schefter halted a conversation with hosts Dan “Big Cat” Katz and PFT Commenter to check one of his two phones after it buzzed.
