The NC State Wolfpack and Texas Longhorns women’s basketball teams ran into an unorthodox problem before their Elite 8 matchup.
Before the game started, Wolfpack head coach Wes Moore and Longhorns coach Vic Schaefer examined the court at the Moda Center in Portland, OR, and noticed that something was off. They believed that there was a difference on how far the 3-point lines were from the hoop, and asked court officials to take a look for themselves.
Turns out, both the head coaches were on to something.

The Purdue Boilermakers needed Zach Edey to lead them to their first Final Four in the past 40 years, and that’s exactly how it played out during an absolute battle against Tennessee in Detroit on Sunday.
We were wondering how this battle of two juggernauts would play-out on the court as it concerned the officiating, and it was clear from the start that they had no idea how to referee this game. I told you earlier Sunday that this game would turn into a WWE type matchup, and this is exactly what we witnessed in the Midwest Final.

A roller derby league on Long Island has sued Nassau County after executive Bruce Blakeman issued an executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports.
Usually, stories like this follow the opposite pattern: a sports team or league sues a governing body for allowing biological men to compete in the league. But the Long Island Roller Rebels – a 20-year-old roller derby league – thinks Nassau County has overstepped by instituting this mandate.

A rapper, top NIL-earner and a talented basketball player are just a few ways Flau’jae Johnson is making a name for herself.
ALBANY, N.Y. — Flau’jae Johnson ran to the LSU bench, throwing her fist against her chest and shouting in celebration with her teammates.
Standing at just 5’9”, she’d just deflected a shot attempt from 6’4” UCLA forward Angela Dugalić in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter to all but seal the Tigers’ win and a berth in the Elite Eight. But that wasn’t her only big moment of the game.

Major League Baseball suspended New York Mets pitcher Yohan Ramirez and manager Carlos Mendoza on Sunday for their role in the belated retaliation against Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins.
Technically, Hoskins started this whole thing Friday afternoon when he hard slid into Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil to break up a double play. That led to tempers flaring, benches clearing, and this epic “cry about it” GIF.
On Saturday, Hoskins further angered the home fans at Citi Field by absolutely raking at the plate.

DALLAS – There is Cinderella history in the NCAA Tournament.
But there is only one Italian Cinderella – North Carolina State coach Jim Valvano, who guided the No. 6 seed Wolfpack to the 1983 national championship and made famous the term, “Survive And Advance.”
While suffering with glandular cancer, Valvano also made famous his credo for the NCAA Tournament and life in general – “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up” – during an emotional speech on Feb.

Welcome to the NBA, Victor Wembanyama.
Victor Wembanyama authored one of the most memorable performances of the season in the final stretch of his rookie year on Saturday night. The San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks, 130-126 in overtime, behind an incredible all-around performance from Wembanyama. The 7’5 rookie finished with 40 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, making 4-of-9 three-pointers and 10-of-12 free throws in the win.
The Spurs ruined a career game from Knicks star Jalen Brunson.

Last week, Rece Davis found himself in hot water when he jokingly referred to Erin Dolan’s betting advice as “risk-free investing.” But he’s not going to make that mistake again.
In a segment on Sunday morning, Davis was joined by ESPN Bet’s Tyler Fulghum to get his picks for the men’s Elite 8 match-ups. But before Fulghum could share his best bets, Davis gave a long and detailed intro that definitely could not be construed as an endorsement of irresponsible gambling.
