The talented big man for the Sycamores, who is known by fans as Cream Abdul-Jabbar, had a dominant season for ISU this year, and ended the year as the runner-ups of the NIT.
Fans were sorely disappointed by ISU not making the NCAA Tournament because spectators wanted to see Avila battle it out against major competition.
They might finally get the chance to on a regular basis.
Avila is officially in the transfer portal after averaging 17.4 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game and shooting 53.

Every year with the NFL Draft cycle, media tends to overthink certain players, especially quarterbacks. The long break between the NFL Combine and NFL Draft give us too much time to sit and fall for the play action that is NFL Draft smokescreens and overthought.
This year the NFL has decided to overthink North Carolina QB Drake Maye, who has been QB2 (or QB1A in my eyes) throughout most of the NFL Draft cycle, but then started to slip.

In what can only be described as a circus-like exit, John Calipari has officially announced his resignation at Kentucky, in one of the worst kept secrets in college basketball. Now, his path to Arkansas can officially begin. 
If you’re wondering why this has played out since Sunday, look no further than how events have transpired over the last few weeks in Lexington. While the college basketball universe sat and waited for this hire to become official, it was as if Calipari was sticking it to Kentucky and athletic director Mitch Barnhart one last time on his way out the door.

In a more than three minute video posted to social media, basketball coach John Calipari said his goodbyes to the University of Kentucky.
Citing the need for a “new voice” to lead the program, the long-time coach announced he was stepping away from the school, bringing to a close a tenure that lasted over a decade in Lexington. Calipari noted that at the end of the season and after some discussions with his wife, they have come to realize that “ … this program probably needs to hear another voice.

It was supposed to be a routine pre-draft press conference for the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, with general manager Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh giving reporters some information – but not too much as to give away the whole map of the team’s upcoming course in the draft.
Harbaugh and DeCosta are awesome at this because they’re smart and always interesting enough to make the media happy. But this day, the duo gave up something much more important and lasting:
They told us their philosophy for having a team that chases a championship every year. 
Not some years.

Defending Masters champion Jon Rahm discussed how he feels after moving to LIV Golf before this year’s tournament at Augusta National.
It’s no secret that Jon Rahm has played substantially less since joining LIV Golf.
Thus far in 2024, he has teed it up 15 times on the Saudi-backed circuit and has yet to emerge as an individual winner.
Meanwhile, a season ago, Rahm arrived at Augusta National, having won three times on the PGA Tour. He also played 28 rounds.

During his Tuesday press conference, Tiger Woods expressed his confidence in Rory McIlroy eventually conquering Augusta National.
Tiger Woods, who has five Green Jackets to his name, feels that Rory McIlroy will one day win one of his own.
The Northern Irishman has come close at Augusta National numerous times, with no better opportunity than in 2011. That year, McIlroy, a young major-less 21-year-old, held a four-shot lead going into the final round.

Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee has been among the most-vocal critics of LIV Golf. Whether it be taking aim at players who have joined the league, the fact that it is solely funded by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), or the simple fact that LIV’s existence has driven a wedge through the middle of professional golf, Chamblee doesn’t appreciate one aspect of the breakaway circuit.
