Miami Heat fans may have just branded themselves the most overconfident fan base in the NBA this year.
About halfway through the fourth quarter of their play-in tournament game against the Chicago Bulls, the Heat held a commanding 29-point lead (they would win the game 112-91). With the victory all but secured, fans at the Kaseya Center started chanting out “We Want Boston!” Evidently, they’re excited about getting their first-round series with the Celtics started.
But even though they’re confident that the Heat can hang with the Celtics, they really shouldn’t be.

It’s official: Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz is a terror on the base paths.
Tyler Anderson and Logan O’Hoppe were the starting pitcher and catcher, respectively, for the Los Angeles Angels against the Reds on Friday evening. They probably thought they had a relatively standard evening on their hands: go out on the mound, limit the traffic on the bases, rinse, and repeat.
But unfortunately, the Reds roster boasts a human bullet train who has the invaluable trait of creating offense by stealing bases.

Yesterday the NHL officially announced that the Arizona Coyotes were going to go inactive while a new Utah-based franchise was on the way.
This happened pretty fast, but it’s clear that fans are already fired up about Salt Lake City being home to an NHL team.
Just two hours after the news was made official, Ryan Smith, the new team’s owner, revealed that they had already received 6,000 season-ticket deposits.
That’s pretty damn good. Especially considering teams like Vegas and Seattle did season ticket drives with a bit more of a heads-up that it was happening.
