Boston Red Sox left fielder Tyler O’Neill exited Monday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians after a brutal clash with teammate Rafael Devers.
The players ran after a pop fly in the eighth inning, which ended up in Devers’ glove, but saw some turbulence when O’Neill came in sprinting. O’Neill and Devers appeared to call for the ball, neither easing off.
Devers’ head appeared to make contact with the front of O’Neill’s face, causing a nasty clash for both players.
