After years of searching for his first F1 win, Lando Norris finally has it
MIAMI — His week began with questions about the cut on his nose.
It ended with him celebrating on the top step of the podium.
After years of searching for it, Lando Norris finally enjoyed his day in the sun here in the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, breaking through with the first victory of his F1 career.

Lando Norris won the first race of his Formula One career, shocking world championship leader Max Verstappen and a sold-out crowd at the third annual Miami Grand Prix on Sunday. A heroic opening effort and a well-timed safety car helped boost the 24-year-old to reach the checkered flag first, while Verstappen’s Red Bull settled for second and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished in third.

Pendrith can finally call himself a PGA Tour winner as the Canadian secured his first victory at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
Four straight rounds in the 60’s helped Taylor Pendrith win his first PGA Tour victory at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
Pendrith fired off a 4-under 67 to beat Ben Kohles by one shot Sunday.
It was quite the dramatic finish, too.
Kohles carried all of the momentum coming into the final hole. He made birdie on 16 and 17 to go from one back to lead by a shot.

Darius Garland was struggling mightily in the early stages of the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 106–94 win over the Orlando Magic in Game 7 on Sunday.
Through three quarters, Garland had two points on 1-of-9 shooting, two turnovers and four fouls. The Cavaliers held an eight-point lead over the Magic heading into the fourth quarter, but if they were going to send Orlando home and advance in the playoffs, they needed their second-leading scorer to step up.
Television cameras caught veteran guard Donovan Mitchell chatting with Garland on the bench during the game. His message? Keep going.

Golf can be an extremely fickle and frustrating game, as all weekend warriors will attest. Ben Kohles, a 34-year-old with no career PGA Tour victories, had a golden opportunity to change his life Sunday at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Instead, it was Taylor Pendrith who saw his life change in the span of about 10 minutes. Pendrith, like Kohles, had never won a PGA Tour event. This was the 74th tournament for the 32-year-old.
Pendrith led the CJ Cup Byron Nelson after Saturday and had the lead with just three holes left to play.

Tiger Woods’ clothing brand, Sun Day Red, launched its second line on Sunday, May 5, finally including the red items.
Not surprisingly, they flew off the shelves.

Lando Norris claimed his first career Formula 1 win Sunday at the Miami Grand Prix, defeating the red-hot Max Verstappen and securing McLaren’s second victory in the last 12 years.
Norris beat Verstappen by seven seconds to claim his first win in his sixth F1 season. He had previously held the F1 record for most podiums without a race win at 15.
After the victory, Norris celebrated with his crew in South Beach.
Verstappen started first in the race after claiming his seventh straight pole position—and sixth this season—on Saturday.

Former President Donald Trump attended the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Miami, Florida, receiving a significant welcome from supporters before the race.
Trump joined the McLaren garage around the pit wall, speaking with McLaren racing CEO Zak Brown and waving to fans who chanted “USA, USA, USA.”
He was also trackside during Marc Anthony’s performance of the National Anthem, saluting as the song was performed.
For most of the U.S. Grand Prix, it seemed like it was set to be yet another runaway win for championship leader Max Verstappen.

The NBA officially rescinded a technical foul called on Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards after completing a league review Sunday.
The foul occurred in the third quarter of the Timberwolves’ 106–99 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. After driving to the hoop for a layup, Edwards stared down Nuggets guard Reggie Jackson for a brief moment and was quickly whistled for a technical foul.
Edwards was stunned. So were NBA analysts Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller on the TNT broadcast.
