The former UCLA great’s still got it.
They say that age is just a state of mind. For College Basketball Hall of Famer and five-time NBA All-Star Marques Johnson, that state of mind still has plenty of game left.
Johnson, who celebrated his 67th birthday earlier this month, shared on Monday his latest entry in what’s become an annual tradition: taking a video of himself dunking on a regulation hoop.

The Panthers’ assistant had interviewed for the head coach vacancies in Carolina and Denver.
Jim Caldwell is returning to coaching in 2023, latching on with the Panthers as a senior assistant. Caldwell, who hasn’t had a coaching position in the NFL since 2019, and has not been a head coach since he was fired by the Lions in 2017, revealed that he does not have plans to pursue future head coaching opportunities, per David Newton of ESPN.

The incident occurred on Monday night in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested for illegally carrying a weapon, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s magistrate court. Nabers was released, and the court did not require him to post bail.
Nabers was arrested on Bourbon Street in New Orleans’s French Quarter at around 7:30 p.m. Monday night when officers noticed he was carrying an “L-shaped object” in his pants, according to NOLA.com. Nabers then was arrested when he told police he didn’t have a permit upon questioning.

Virginia baseball infielder Jake Gelof’s third home run of the season was the shortest of his career. It was not even hit over the outfield wall, technically.
With one on and one out in the bottom of the second inning against Longwood, Gelof stepped into the box with the count at 2-0. He saw the offering barreling down toward the dish and liked what he saw.
Gelof reared back, swung forward and put his bat on the ball. It sounded good off of the bat, but the ball quickly died at the warning track.

A steady stream of star player-coach drama has occurred within the Atlanta Hawks. Unfortunately for coach Nate McMillan, the team officially gave up on his side of the beef and decided to cut ties.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks dismissed McMillan as head coach on Tuesday amid a season full of acrimony with star guard Trae Young.
Disputes With Young Precede McMillan’s Dismissal
One dispute earlier in the season between McMillan and Young led to the star guard’s absence for one game.

Atlanta is reportedly in search of its next head coach.
The Hawks have fired coach Nate McMillan, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
McMillan was in his third season as Atlanta’s head coach and his fourth with the franchise. He took over as at the Hawks head coach in the middle of the 2020-21 season.
Assistant coach Joe Prunty will serve as interim head coach, according to Wojnarowski.
Atlanta has made changes to its front office in recent months. Now, the Hawks will be in search of a new coach heading into the second half of the season.
