UCLA’s Lauren Betts leaps forward as one of the best players in college basketball.
When most people think of Los Angeles women’s basketball, Juju Watkins and the USC Trojans most likely come to mind. While the hometown hero aims to lead her team to their first national championship in over 40 years, another group just a few miles down the road also have their sights set on being crowned the city’s new women’s basketball dynasty by bringing a trophy back to L.A.

The NFL is excited about the final weekend of the regular-season because the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are playing a high-stakes game, while the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still alive for the final playoff slots in each conference.
It’s amazing!
But it’s a mixed bag.
The fact is the NFL this season has nine teams, or about one-third of the league, that are simply awful. Nine teams are entering the final weekend of games with four wins or less.

Mathis, considered the overall No. 55 recruit, will need to make a choice on where to attend.
A majority of the 2025 recruiting class has committed and signed with their next school as National Signing Day has come and gone, but there are still a few key recruits to be had, starting with four-star edge rusher Zahir Mathis.
Considered the No. 55 recruit and the No. 4 edge rusher in the Class of 2025 by Rivals, the top recruit in the state of Pennsylvania was a one-time commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes before de-committing in November of 2024.

While all the NFL quarterbacks were showering their offensive linemen with expensive, luxury gifts this Christmas, Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt was getting his guys something they could really use — an unlimited supply of Arby’s.
The fast food chain has signed NIL deals with eight ASU offensive linemen, thanks to some urging from their redshirt freshman quarterback. That group includes Leif Fautanu, Ben Coleman, Max Iheanachor, Josh Atkins, Emmit Bohle, Cade Briggs, Sean Na’a and Makua Pule.

The Oregon Ducks will look very flashy for the team’s playoff game against Ohio State.
The Ducks and Buckeyes will meet in the Rose Bowl Wednesday in what is easily the biggest game of the week.
Not only does it feature arguably the two best teams in America, but it’s also a revenge game for OSU. The Buckeyes lost on the road in Eugene in the regular season, and it’s time for payback.
Whether the Ducks or Buckeyes win, we at least know Oregon is going to look iced out doing it.

Things escalated in a hurry during the final seconds of the Miami Heat’s win over the Rockets in Houston on Sunday night. Fines feel like they’re inevitable following the incident, but former Rocket Vernon Maxwell claims he has his team’s side of things covered.
The fight between the two sides broke out with 35 seconds left in regulation with the Heat leading 99-94. Miami’s Tyler Herro locked up with Houston’s Amen Thompson, that led to the Rockets’ forward tossing Herro to the floor like a ragdoll.

With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season coming to an end, Buddy the Elf — who also goes by Will Ferrell — decided to take in a hockey game between the L.A. Kings and Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
And it appears the holiday took a toll on the 57-year-old elf. In full costume, Ferrell was spotted smoking a cigarette (or rather, just having one hanging out of his mouth) and drinking beers in his premium seats at Crypto.com Arena. The grumpy-looking actor was accompanied by his wife Viveca and their 14-year-old son Axel.

Anthony Edwards’ profanity is becoming a costly habit.
Anthony Edwards is one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, but his achilles heel is quickly becoming … an inability to stop swearing. Edward was fined a whopping $100,000 on Sunday for using profanity in his post-game interview after beating the Rockets.
It goes without saying that this video contains swearing.

While the speculation around starting quarterback Quinn Ewers continues to swirl, backup Arch Manning made it abundantly clear this morning that he has no intentions of entering the transfer portal and leaving Texas after the season ends.
As the Longhorns prepare for their matchup with Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on Wednesday, there are obviously questions whether Ewers will return to college for another season or declare for the NFL Draft.
