After a short field goal attempt flew directly into one upright and, as if guided by Devine Intervention, bounded in between the posts to give the Kansas City Chiefs another victory, coach Andy Reid called up his team in a locker room speech that eventually led to prayer.
“Let’s take a knee,” Reid ordered his players.
And as they have for years, the Chiefs prayed after the game.
This has been the way for the team that has won three Super Bowls in five years. In good times and bad, after wins and after losses, the Chiefs pray as a team.

The Rams are healthy again, and Matthew Stafford is finding Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. They looked unstoppable Sunday.
We are so far into this year’s overall football season that the College Football Playoff has been officially finalized. It has been the best time of year since late August, but welcome to the nirvana of it all.
Such is true relative to the NFL, as well, what with various playoff berths going off like the flickering lights on Christmas trees.

Another Dallas Cowboys heartbreak hits primetime.
The Cowboys fumbled away a prime chance to win Monday night against the Bengals, capped by a brutal blocked punt that will haunt Dallas fans all season. The Bengals defeated Dallas, 27-20.
Not many people were hopeful about a Cooper Rush-led Cowboys offense facing off against Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase; however, the interim Cowboys QB made things interesting until Dallas basically gave the game away.

Someone thought it was a great idea to Simpsons-ify the NFL’s Week 14 Monday Night Football matchup between the Cowboys and Bengals. And what sounded like watching a football game on acid turned out to be solid.
Monday night’s SimpsonsCast (or the Simpsons Funday Football) on ESPN+ and Disney+ got people talking thanks to the wild visuals and over-the-top take on the classic cartoon.
And yes, The Simpsons is considered a ‘classic’ now. We’re all getting old.

Cade York seems to be winning off the football field.
Starting as the Cincinnati Bengals’ placekicker Monday night in place of the injured Evan McPherson, NFL kicker Cade York prepared to be hurled into the spotlight for Week 14’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
York had a unique connection to the game. His girlfriend, Zoe Dale, happens to be a cheerleader for the Cowboys. So when Cade York completed his first kick for the Bengals, Dale was cheering on the Cowboys’ sidelines, but she wasn’t cheering for Dallas.

A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts are going through a rough patch as Philadelphia Eagles teammates.
As is often the case with Brown, his team is enjoying success, yet his individual stats fall short of expectations … his expectations.
Brown has been openly disgruntled about the Eagles’ weakened pass attack as Jalen Hurts plays the short-yard game through the air.
“Passing,” Brown said when asked what the team could improve on offense after Sunday’s 22-16 win over the Carolina Panthers, improving the Eagles’ record to 11-2.
