Tom Brady shared his opinion of Steelers safety Damontae Kazee being suspended without pay for the rest of the season on Monday following his illegal hit on Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. during Saturday’s game.
However, the former quarterback’s comment on SportsCenter’s Instagram post of the news definitely shocked some fans. Brady essentially argued that if quarterbacks threw better passes, then situations like these illegal hits could be avoided.
“Nobody likes seeing players get hurt. But hard hits happen,” Brady wrote.

San Francisco’s sixth consecutive double-digit victory resulted in oddsmakers installing the NFC West power as the overwhelming betting +200 favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII.
Brock Purdy, who ranks third in the NFL in touchdown passes (29), has become the prohibitive favorite (-190) to earn 2023 NFL MVP honors grabbing favoritism away from Dallas’ Dak Prescott (+450).

A strange scene unfolded in Green Bay on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans caught a touchdown pass against the Packers. A diehard Bucs fan in the stands caught Evans’ attention.
The fan, in his haste to get to Evans, crashed through a Lambeau Field gate meant to keep fans from reaching the field. Evans handed him the ball and then dapped him up.
Immediately after the exchange, Packers security rushed to the fan and appeared displeased that he went through the gate.

Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards posted a statement on social media Monday addressing an alleged text message exchange in which he appears to be urging a woman to get an abortion.
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards wrote in the statement. “All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them,” he continued.

Troy hired Notre Dame offensive coordinator Gerad Parker as the team’s new head coach on Monday.
Jon Sumrall coached Troy the last two seasons and won two conference titles before heading to Tulane. Parker will take over the Trojans after they finished on top of the Sun Belt Conference with an 11–2 record.
“We are excited to appoint Gerad Parker to lead our proud and storied football program,” Troy chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr. said in a statement.

The Chargers signed quarterback Will Grier from the Patriots’ practice squad and waived former TCU signal-caller Max Duggan on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
If Duggan clears waivers, he will return to the Los Angeles’s practice squad. The movesare the first made by Chargers interim general manager JoJo Wooden, and they come after Easton Stick committed three turnovers in the team’s ugly 63–21 loss to the Raiders on Thursday Night Football at Allegiant Stadium.

Michael Irvin was not a fan of Broncos coach Sean Payton’s actions toward quarterback Russell Wilson after a penalty wiped a touchdown off the board during Denver’s Week 15 loss to the Lions. An irate Payton was seen on camera yelling at the officials and subsequently dressing down Wilson.
During a Monday appearance on FS1’s Undisputed, Irvin made it known he was not happy with how Payton treated Wilson, even demanding that the Broncos coach publicly apologize to his signal-caller.

Anthony Edwards is deeply sorry for encouraging an Instagram model to get an abortion. Well, he’s sorry she told everyone about it.
Paige Jordae exposed the Minnesota Timberwolves guard in a series of text message screenshots on Sunday. In the texts, she tells Edwards she is pregnant and has an appointment to see a doctor.
The 22 year old NBA All-Star responded, “Hell Nawl can’t do dis.”
He then suggested that she “get a abortion lol.”
“Honestly I had an abortion with my son around 2 years ago and I regret it everyday,” she said.

The NFL regular season is nearly complete. Sad face. I wait all year for this season and it goes by so quickly. However, the good news is that we have almost all of the information we need to make our predictions for the rest of the year.
Personally, I’ve seen enough to make my official declarations. I believe there are eight-ish teams competing for the Lombardi Trophy this year. Five of those teams have a better shot than the other three. But, after those eight, we could rank the rest of the NFL in practically any order.
However, that wouldn’t be as fun.

The road to Wembley has entered the knockout rounds. After Monday’s draw, the stage is set for the Round of 16 with Manchester United, AC Milan and Benfica as the biggest absentees.
Rather surprisingly, there are no massive showdowns coming out of the draw, despite PSG and Inter Milan both finishing second in their group. (Each side could have just as easily drawn Manchester City, Bayern or Real Madrid.) Instead, we got a relatively light Round of 16 that kicks off Feb. 13 and ends March 13 , with another draw on March 15 to determine the quarterfinals and semifinals.
